New Buyer Axis 24.1

I am in the midst of negotiating purchasing a 17 Axis 24.1. My wife and I are new to RVing and would be first time buyers.
The model we are looking at comes with the 15 btu ac, the bedroom vent and heated holding tanks which seem to be the standard upgrades when buying these.
The dealer is offering us the RV at 66,800 which I feel is a pretty good deal.
The RV, in our opinion is the a floor plan that works well for us. My wife and I are quite sporadic and tend to travel on a whim to the beach over a weekend and unplanned. 2 of our 3 children are in college and our youngest is a sophomore in H.S. therefore their interest in traveling with us is declining as they have their own interest and it seems that if one or two want to come along we will still be alright.

I am writing to ask, if the negotiated price is on target or are you seeing better prices. What options are a must on the new RV, What is everybody's opinion of the Axis lineup, and is there anything i should be looking for in particular with this new RV?

I thank you for any opinions and information.

There have been some comments that the prices on the 2017s have come down to reduce inventory prior to the release of the 2018s. I would say that the price you were quoted is quite reasonable. Things to look for? Keep in mind that you will need an alignment and then make sure everything is operating properly along with workmanship and finish issues. Sounds like a winner to me.

The price is right

and within the range that many people are paying for the Axis/Vegas. The important part comes after the sale. Get out and on the road as quickly as you can. Exercise all of the systems in the house (and the chassis) and make sure that everything is working and continues to work.

Pay attention during your pre-delivery inspection, make notes of any defects found and get them corrected before you sign on the dotted line. Make sure you understand how everything works and why.

The Axis isn't a perfect product, there will be things that need to be adjusted and corrected. But for the price you are paying, you're getting a lot of value. But keep in mind that your dealer is part of what you're buying into. He can make or break your satisfaction with what you've bought.

And be active on these Forums. There are many knowledgeable people here who are very willing to help you get thru the learning curve.

I got a Vegas 24.1 2018 for $73k out the door (base was $69k) - lots of nice improvements in the 2018....

We were at a show last weekend put on by our local dealer and if I remember correctly that seemed to be a very similar price to what was selling. Good luck with the purchase and stay involved here on the forum.

Thanks

I want to take a minute to thank everyone for the feedback. We have the dealer getting the RV aligned before pickup and plan to take possession of it next Friday. We will do a very thorough walkthrough. We are very excited.

Did you stand in the shower and close the curtain? That was a deal breaker for us on the 24.1. Loved everything else though.

We ended up with a 2016 ACE 27.1 with 2300 miles on it for $60K.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. Here is a link to the Axis/Vegas Owners' Manual I compiled. It is especially written for "newbies" to give you system operation information and checklists. There is a highly detailed PDI checklist especially for the Axis/Vegas to really checkout the RV before you sign on the dotted line.

We have a 2015 Vegas 24.1 and it is the perfect floorplan for my wife & I and our Bichon. The bathroom shower is pretty tight with the curtain closed, but surprisingly, it does not take long to get used to its smallness.

Have a 2017 24.1 and love it. 18000 miles in 1 yr. I had a 1000 watt inverter installed for boondocking purposes. Primarily for overnight TV use without using generator.
