New furutre rig shopping

Ok so the wife and I have been shopping around and fell in love with the Thor Hurricane 35C bath and a half unit.
Upon some research we found the Miramar 34.1 with larger wheels, tanks ect. Problem is there is none close to us to sit in, play with, test drive! This is not an "Im buying next week so I need hurry" so any Input on 2016-17 34.1 units would be greatly appreciated!! I heard the new 2017's have a new 6 speed trans that would assist with the Rockies and Smokies!!
Thanks in advance everyone!!
Also the only place we have to purchase around here is Camping world and I have mixed feelings about that! Would it be worth the trip to Elkhart or down to Texas with Motor Home Specialists?

You all are a wealth of knowledge! We are forum fanatics!!

Andy and Kathy

I have delt with the dealer in Elkhart, was NOT impressed. Just bought a new Windsport from MHS in Alveredo, WAS impressed with them. I've seen a lot of dealers in my travels, but never one that big!!! Very nice people, fantastic selection, could not have asked for better treatment. Would I recommend them, absolutely I would!!!

We originally were looking at a different coach, because of their huge selection we changed our minds and bought the Windsport.

...yes, drive, drive, drive to get to the dealer and coach selection that you want - this is a large purchase and mileage or distance or time should not keep you from the experience. yes, MHSRV south of Dallas/FtWorth is excellent - so many choices, so many floorplans models of the same coaches, etc.
Take you time, stay a few days, don't make a rushed purchase - and when you DO find and purchase the one you want, stay a few days - overnight in the coach, use the facilities, try out all the options, practice with the generator, inverter, shore power options, water pump, water heater options, and take it for a LONG test drive. They will work with you and make you happy, taking care of any issues you have or find before you leave. : )

we've purchased two coaches from them - a beautiful '15 Forest River Georgetown XL360DS(with a trade-in of a '13 Blackwood Fiv'r/Ram Truck), and later the '14 Thor Palazzo 33.3 DP(trade-in of the Georgetown)... couldn't ask for better service - would do it again in a heartbeat.

We did not see a Miramar 34.1 in our search for the right coach, but looking at the floorplans they seem similar. The 34.1 looks to have a bit more storage but also be a bit more cramped (35' overall length vs. 37' in the 35C) than the 35C. I would imagine the 34.1 has some extra fit and finish (larger wheels and larger fresh water tank) but around a $20K difference in price. For the money, I'd stick to the 35C if you liked the floorplan. But it is definitely worth looking at the 34.1 before making that decision, just so you are confident and not second guessing yourself.
