Thor Vegas - Radio / Back Up Camera Issue

We have a '15 Thor Vegas and just found out that the Radio / Back Up Camera is not working properly. The radio will play when the house use button is on but none of the buttons on the radio will work. We cannot turn off the radio using the buttons, the back up camera will not work, nor will the menu button work. Any one have any ideas what the problem could be? We have used the reset button on the radio, checked the fuse box, checked to make sure the ground fault receptacle is working properly, but none of that makes any difference. Thanks.

Axxera

Mine does the same thing, if it is the Axxera radio they work when they are in the mood. Mine the radio works at times but when there is static it mess up the back up camera. Check some of the other post about radio's. Jerry Hurricane mod is a good post.

What radio do you have?? 2015 could have Jensen or Axxera...

The Jensen has infamous 'blank screen' problem (several threads)... Radio will play whatever it is on... CD might play... but no buttons work... no cameras... can't turn off.
Some variations I've seen personally include 'colorful' screen of snow... and just a dead radio.

On my second unit now (extended service plan replaced) and has acted up a couple of times recently.

Pulling the radio and unplugging it completely (it gets power from both house (normal) and chassis (keep alive)) - leave it for a couple of days - then plug back in - has worked on occasion.

If you have the Axxera radio, there are TWO reset buttons, and the most obvious one does nothing.
There are several threads about radio issues that you can find with a search. If you don't find what you are looking forward, ask here again.

After having to correct the problem several times. I installed a "kill" switch on the chassis battery cable. Now powering down the radio from both sources - flip 2 switches.

We have a kill switch on the chassis battery and always cut the power to both batteries. The batteries are working fine, it is the whole combination radio / back up camera that is not working.

Right... ThorRut's point was rather than removing/unplugging the radio, he uses both kill switches to remove all power from the radio....
Removing the radio is simple with the right tools... Two u shaped wires that go in the four holes on front of the radio. I remove and unplug everything.. leave it for a couple of days, then plug it back in and try it.
This has been known to circumvent (not fix) the issue for a period of time. Eventually it will fail again.

Alternative is replacement... But the RV212T and it's initial replacement of the RV215 have both been discontinued... The next replacement is in another thread here...Rv9xxx something...

Switching brands is an option, but the Jensen is the only one I know of with 3 camera inputs. You will need to add a trigger switch to any other unit to feed into the single camera input.... Or use a separate monitor for cameras.

(You can also try calling ASA (makes Jensen)... They might help on a replacement....)
