Hello Thor Forum Members - Got another great review for your guys on a new high tech “Electric” LSV / Golf Cart vehicle. There’s a fair amount of RV owners who pull their golf cart or Toad behind their rig to get around when they tech their destination who will be interested in this great little vehicle called Atomic S2. The Atomic sells for around the same money as a golf cart yet this car comes equipped with a full automotive quality cab with air conditioning, heat, power steering, power brakes, radio, electric windows, locks, lights signals and much more.

For who are interested in technical aspects, this in-depth article covers the motor, controller, down-converter, air conditioner, heater and even check the current draw at different speed.

My electric toad has a full automotive quality cab with A/C, stereo, seatbelts, airbags!, power windows, bluetooth, etc. and it sells for around the same money as your average car...

Sorry...couldn't resist.

Cute. Limited mileage range of 50-70 miles. A/C and hilly terrain will significantly reduce that. It has it's purpose, but as a "touring toad" I don't think the range would work. Great for The Villages or other similar communities, but golf carts and the new "PTV's" work great there also and don't require licenses. I think the parts and service network in more remote areas might be a challenge as well. But it's cute for sure!

I’ve seen quite a few “low speed vehicles” on roads lately, but all in Florida. Some were electric and others gas — mostly around beach area of Sarasota and years ago in Key West. Can’t recall seeing any in Texas; probably because you wouldn’t survive very long.

As a mini-toad, it’d be more useful if it could be hauled inside a motorhome bike-style garage, much like a motorcycle. Some of the ones I recall seeing in Sarasota where 3-wheelers and not too large, yet were on road. I’m sure they didn’t have A/C, or power steering (not that something that light needs it).

If you have to trailer or connect with tow bar or dolly, you might as well get a real car in my opinion.

My gator and my polaris 850 are both street legal.
But
I'd sure buy a smart car instead.

I'm of the thought that a street legal side by side can't be questioned, but I'm not about to tell a 22 year old cop thism

We're 99percent sure we don't need a towed.
If we do, I'm thinking of a pre 1968 spitfire with a miata drive train or maybe a prius drive train.
I've also considered a kellison or similar, but I'm thinking a little more anonymous might be better. If you don't care about a crowd, $25,000 will get you a very nice used Shelby replica. But they draw a crowd of...unititiated crowd.

Because we antique and furniture a lot, we'll probably wind up with a super clean Mikado 4x4(you have to be pretty old to know these)
But
We can go anywhere with the 24.1 a dually truck can(except for overhead clearance) so we plan just in case, but really can't see a towed, let alone a compromise like the op posted or a golf cart. I'd have a mitsu micro truck before I'd have a battery powered miles range thing.

I would sure like to see a picture of beau's towed.
It says rampside in his signature, I can only think corvair truck....

Street Legal with all the new "toys" is so specific within a given state or municipality. Before carrying her with you, check the areas of travel for the ordinances.

Thanks for your reply - I've been running golf carts and ATV's on highways for decades - as long as you're respectful and yield to traffic and use common sense you'll be fine.

Last year I gave away my two battery powered golf carts.
I liked them better than any other equipment I had, but fantastic deals came along on 'real' equipment so something had to give.
Man, I hated losing those.

I expected to replace the carts with the BadBoy hybrid side by sides but the gator and quad came up for sale at 1/3 and 1/2 prices....
Has anyone seen a BadBoy used as a towed?

I believe, but haven't checked in a while,
They are gas powered rear wheels and electric powered front wheels.
Range, electric and 4x4 all in one.

I owned two Badboy carts in the past while they are good, my Kubota would run circles around them in the woods!

Kubotas are almost a secret. So few people know about them.
Such a good vehicle.
It's what I'd have bought if the gator hpx(essentially a tractor and not a very good UTV for the standard UTV crowd) hadn't fallen into my lap too inexpensive to pass up.
It seldom leaves the property unless headed to do some work somewhere.

The bobcats are another secret vehicle.

So many choices to make. I'm glad mine were financial decisions not requiring a make or model choice.

The dream vehicle was a Marine Corps mule, but I insist on the four wheel steering model. If I find a derilict I'll rebuild it, but I don't want to pay blue sky for someone's restoration just to haul rocks and dirt and tree trimmings.

If I find a BadBoy cheap, would you recommend it for small ranch duty?

Had a gator also - could not get over the drive-train noise, at 35 mph she sounded like it was going to come apart! LOL
