HDMI on dash

i have an HDMI port on the dash below the radio on 2016 Vegas. Can anyone tell me what it is for? I've been told that it isn't for mirroring nav on phone, which is what I thought, so I'm at a loss.

I use it on mine to play movies off of my iPod. There should me a manual for the radio that came with your coach that will walk you threw its uses.

If it is an Axxerra radio the HDMI port is for mirroring certain phone screens onto the dash radio.

If it the Jensen, I don't know.

As far as I know the Jensen radio installations don't have an HDMI port on the dash.

It is not for mirroring. Here is an except from the Axxera manual:

DualMirror™ Operation

The DualMirror™ technology allows you to mirror the screen of select Android
smartphones as well as iPhone, iPod and iPad devices onto the receiver's screen and to charge your mobile device through the rear USB port.
Simply plug in your device to the rear HDMI and USB inputs, and you are ready to view your favorite navigation or music apps directly on the receiver’s screen

Since mirroring is an acceptable form (verb) of the word mirror I stand by my explanation as demonstrated in your excerpt from the Axxerra manual.

I just today, got the HDMI to lighting connector for my iPad. I plugged it into to HDMI port below the Axxera, on my 2015 Hurricane 34e. It did play the video that was playing on my iPad......the only thing I noticed is, about every 30 seconds, I would here about 5 seconds of static. This remains constant, and I don't know what caused it . I'm not really sure what good it is though, since the display is angled toward the driver....it's nothing that would benefit my wife in the passenger seat, and frankly......I think the picture was not that good. Since it does mirror what is on the iPad, I don't see why you could not use it to display your google maps for instance. Mostly though, I always have the rear camera on though to monitor my Toad.

I got it to work on my Chateau 31L without difficulty but as you stated, the picture was not that good and that is the reason I don't use if to display Google Maps or Apple maps or anything else. It was essentially not readable. I will stick to my stand alone GPS.

And mine worked first time without any issues. Otherwise I could give you some troubleshooting tips. There is an icon on the menu for the mirroring. I didn't have to use it but you might take a look at that.

I haven't tied mine yet because I forgot where I put my adapter for running the iPad though HDMI. Found it a couple days ago while beginning the prep for my next trip.

On point is the connection on the dash plugs into the back of the radio. You may have a case where it is not plugged in or a loose connection. When I bought my coach the Bluetooth microphone was not plugged in so anything is possible.

KC,

Went and hooked up my iPad with no problems other than a lousy display on the radio. Went into maps and the map image is so small it is virtually unusable.

Mine as well, you could not read it, tried a update and it didn’t help. So its back at the dealer for a few repairs so I will let them handle it

Bruce -- I thought that Thor had wired the HDMI and the USB port down at the bottom of the center console of the Axis/Vegas below the radio (Axerra) to the back of the radio so that you didn't have to go in and do that yourself.
