12 volt promblem

Just picked up my 2012 thor class c 21 footer . They went over everything or so I thought at camper world in cocco florida. Should my 12 volt lights inside work with out generator or power plugged in . I can not figure it out seems it should .I have 2 batteries for the coach part separate from the truck battery . Looked for a switch ,but found none .. I have the power switch that shuts everything down ,but that does nothing for the 12 volt system I am new to this . Please Help. thanks

Your lights should work off the battery, whether you are plugged in to shore power or not--------unless the battery is shot.

There should be main switch to turn them on and off. Also most have a separate switch right on the light it self for selecting which ones you want on at the time. The main switch does have to be turn on for this function to work.

Usually there's a switch next to the battery.

The switch on my Class C is on the left side of the entry steps (inside the coach), about 3ft up from ground level - next to the porch light switch and awning extend/retract switch. It has a LED on it, and it is a momentary switch. When you depress the switch up, I can hear a contactor (relay) closing.

Not sure if this is how your coach is, but see if there is some kind of switch in that area.
