Vegas/axix front shade

Hope someone can help. We had trouble getting the front shade to go down. At first it only lowered about 6 inches. After putting on the the brake, still no go.

I then started up the engine, even though we were told the key had to be out. The shade went down until it was about 2 inches from the dash.

The problem now is, it won't go up at all.

Has anyone had this problem.

Does anyone know where the motor is?
Thanks for any help.

I believe the shade motor is attached to the roller.

If the key is in the ignition and turned on the shade will only lower about 1 foot. This is a safety feature to prevent blocking a driver's field of vision. If the key is turned off then the shade should lower to the dash of to any point between.

On my coach the shade is manufactured by Irvine Shade and Door. Their web site is

Welcome | Irvine Shade and Door : Irvine Shade and Door

Here are the wiring instructions for the shade in my coach.

You might want to give them a call.

Sounds like trouble. Ours lowers with the ignition on. Won't go all the way up.

Sounds like a couple of wires might be crossed.

Ours operates as Dave has described: key in it only lowers about 1/2 way, take the key out and it goes all the way down.

I was on the internet searching all weekend looking for a fix. I found this youtube video today. The learning wires look the same as the ones I have, so I tried the reprogramming & it worked.
