ACE 27.1 Thoughts or trouble spots

We are actively looking to purchase a 2016 ACE and would welcome any input, both positive and negative. Currently in an upper end 5th wheel but want to simplify and downsize.

We sold our 34' 5th wheel a couple of years ago and bought a new 2015 ACE 27.1. We have taken three trips in it for over 10,000 miles covering 21 states from coast to coast. We are generally very happy with the ACE, though there were a couple of issues to be resolved under warranty (dash air never worked, vinyl on dash has a cut right next to the windshield).

As for the ACE in general, it is great for the two of us, especially the king bed. It would be great if they had a model-specific manual. I found it a little squirrelly to drive in a crosswind, but I suppose that is normal for anything shaped like this. I am not thrilled with the noisy, high-RPM engine when it is climbing a hill. We just got back from our last trip and I calculated 8.5 MPG with the generator running quite a bit.

I hope that helps some.

We purchased a ACE 29.2 2014 in 2013. Had quite a few problems, hot water heater only works on Propane, water and sewer pump failure, and a few minor ones like leaky connections. In spite of all the problems, we love it. We are petless, and grandkidsless. This is the only one we've ever owned, but have come to firmly believe, problems are inherently part of ownership. I fix what I can, and wait weeks/months to schedule repairs.

Yep, sounds pretty typical of RV ownership. Thanks for your input - we pulled the trigger on a 29.3 today so we'll see.
