Thor Hurricane/Windsport: why carpet in bedroom and cockpit?

Thor Hurricane/Windsport 34J: why carpet in bedroom and cockpit? e.g. under slide and beside nightstand. It is difficult to clean carpet. Is there an easy way to clean them. Other brands do not have it.

Our Axis has carpet in the cockpit--the early model year Axis/Vegas units are carpeted up there. I would suspect its an attempt at reducing noise from the engine compartment.

Yeah we just vacuum it.

our Palazzo diesel has carpet, but sparingly: only under the feet of the driver, only across the very bottom of the bunks at the lower drawers, and at the very bottom bellow the bedroom drawers - both in slides... seems like there no real 'good' reason for these, at least to me, though I'm o.k. with the carpet under my bare feet when I'm driving : )

I think we have .423 sq feet of it

Vacuum. But do not want to buy more things, the less the better I think they should be covered by wood or the same flooring material for easy cleaning, like other brands do.

I love not having Carpet in our Hurricane! Vegas had it, why pick our rig with no carpet!

mini shop vac, wall dyson, and battery blower!

working on central vac thanks to the Judge! HA

What is your floorplan of Hurricane? 33X and 34J have it.

Heated floor and high dollar vinyl.
$500 makes it yours.

Just watched review video, Thor Miramar 35.2 does not have carpet. Does this mean Hurricane/Windsport is very entry-level coach?

I think lots of folks like carpet in the bedroom and it does do a lot to quiet the noise in the cockpit. I clean mine with a vacuum and once in a while with a small carpet cleaning machine. Different strokes for different folks.

Lot off discussion on carpet in the cabs of Senecas on the Jayco forum. One school of thought is folks like to drive barefoot and want carpet. The other school of thought, which I agree with, is that when using the truck lanes for diesel the lanes are not clean and diesel gets tracked into the cab. No big deal in a Super C coming in through the driver's door but have to enter through the main living area of a Class A presents a different challenge.

BTW, our 2015 Challenger did not have any carpet and our 2020 Accolade only has carpet on areas of the living and dinette slides.
