Thor construction

I was looking at a Miramar and noticed this exposed edge of plywood flooring with one of the storage bay doors open (it was on a 2016 or 2017 model)

Is this normal/expected?

Any potential issues with it wicking water into the floor?

Unless it was treated, primed, painted and/or covered I would think yes. In that picture, the rough edge looks ready to soak up any moisture it can.

I guess my other question is - is that a misalignment in the construction between the storage frame/ABS compartment/floor, or just something that wasn't painted/covered up/sealed?

I looked closely at some other Thor rigs in similar areas, and couldn't find anything like this.

Not an individual rig I was considering buying, but a great example of something that might be easy to miss on your personal PDI. It is right up under the edge when you open the storage doors, and of course outside the storage lip and bulb seal so easy to imagine it being wet there.

I agree, I didn't see anything like that when we did our PDI but I am sure that it can probably go unnoticed by the average buyer. In your picture, it almost looks like it should be an inch or so higher to fit behind the top lip of the compartment.

Exactly. I watched their factory video to try and visualize where it should be, but anyway, an area to look at. When I asked the salesman he said "oh it just needs painting".

My opinion is that nearly all RV Salesman regardless of brand are just that "salesmen". It has seemed to me that most spend very little time getting to know the technical aspects of their products unless it is published in a sales brochure. If I saw that, I would ask to have someone (preferably the foreman) in the service department explain it to me. My gut feeling is something is out of place and needs to be fixed.
