generator time

Ok I hope this isnt a repeated question. But. How much run time do you have on your coaches generator? I have 75 hours, anybody else?

I would also be interested in reading over how much time the generator hours were accumulated. Your 75 hours of use if over the first month would have different meaning to me than if over first year, or 5 years.

Since we're always running it going down the road (until recently) I believe that we're approaching 100 hours--this is after 16 months of ownership and 5000+ miles on the camper.

I gave my son our 1992 Flair 2 weeks ago. It had 27.8 hours! Needless to say it wasn't used much! Only had 38,032 miles.
The 2016 Vegas 24.1 I replaced it with already has 16.2 hours with 2,392 miles. Been warmer than normal!

We have over 125 hours, 7000 miles and we had it just shy of a year. Most of the generator time is from driving not camping. It was a little hot last year needed the air on.

In 19 months of ownership and almost 6,000 miles on the odometer, the genny has about 12 hours on the Hobbs meter.

When I boondock, I use the stove to make coffee!

2 hours on the geni and 4,880 on the engine - one trip to Florida and one to Hilton Head so far since October 2014. The inverter on this couch works so well I do not have to start the geni at all. the hours are simply exercising it in the driveway!

Going to Pigeon Forge in July for two weeks, our longest trip yet!

that brings up a point about the data.... a variable is if you have an inverter system or not.
I don't have an inverter so I run the generator to make coffee or other little 120VAC needs when not plugged in.... so my number would be higher than a person with an inverter.

I have a small 800 watt inverter, I will sometimes use my small coffee maker 650 watt. early in the morning. I am looking at appliances that use less wattage to what my inverter has to offer.

I would consult your owner's manual. You are supposed to exercise the genset every month which includes putting a load on it. Therefore, you should have at a minimum, one hour of generator time for every month of ownership. According to Onan, the generator needs to be run, even when in storage.
