Question about power to slide

I have a 2020 Entegra Esteem 30X. I have always been at a campground when I activated the slide. Today at home, with the generator running, I tried the slide but it had no power. Do I need to be plugged in for the slide to work?

I don’t have your model but I’m certain the answer is no. Assuming you have an automatic transfer switch and that other AC devices are working your coach shouldn’t be able to tell the difference between the generate the shore power. And, in any case, your slides work off of 12v DC. Perhaps you have the “store” switch off? Or the key I. The ignition?

No need to be plugged in. You do need the battery disconnect in the "IN_USE" position.

With the generator running, only the 30 amp fuse in the power center being blown or the ignition interlock would keep the slide from moving. Make sure the coach is in park and the ignition key removed from the ignition. Some coaches require the parking brake to be set, however that is not necessary on my coach.
