Radio

Hi,
Our 2018 Miramar 35.3 Axxera AVM111AVM radio stopped working, I've had no response from the vendor and Thor does not have a replacement. Batteries are good and no blown fuses. I would like to know if there is an easy plug and play replacement without having to cut any wires or dash.

Thanks

those radios are all sized by a DIN standard....pretty sure that's a double DIN size unit.

Did you try resetting it?

yeah, I meant to add to my earlier post....

several years ago, fairly early on in my ownership of this heap...my radio went dead...well really it was more about the backup camera.
Fishin around under the dash for a cause the thing eventually worked again.just fixed by accidentally finding the loose wire. Knock on wood, but based on the years and the miles, it was a solid fix!

Maybe your's is similar...just loose workmanship form the factory.....

If you're asking that question you best bet is to take the new radio and RV to a stereo shop and have them install it.

You got 5 years out of it. I wouldn't expect much from Axxera or Thor. If it were me I would go to several Audio shops and find out what I like in a new one. I would worry about wires that may need to be cut, just let a professional install. Same goes for dash; a trim may be required anyway. Your hardest part is deciding what radio. Once a new radio is found; $100 labor and maybe $50 for some miscellaneous and you back in business.

Crutchfield has adapter cables for many vehicles with OEM radios to whatever you may have. Also you might check Best Buy. They also have some adapter cables. At least they used to. It has been many years since I had to changed out a radio.

I have an OEM radio in my 2015 Windsport and the touch screen only partially works. In order to change a station sometimes you have to repeatedly push the "button" several times to get it to move to the next station. Incredibly frustrating. The replacement radio that crosses over to the OEM installed retails for over $900.00.

As suggested above, I have reset the radio several times and that has not fixed the issue. I would like to try not to spend any money on a new radio if there might be a fix for this problem.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. In the end a trip the a radio shop may be the only fix.

Thanks
