Bank of the West...
But that was late last Fall; when the economy was booming.
I think that I just hit it lucky.

That’s who I called a few months ago. At that time they were at about 4.5%

I don’t know about “just got lucky “. The real reason is they just like you better than me.

Bank of the West is a common RV financer. We have financed through them with new TTs 3 times, and normally pay off the loan well ahead of schedule, BUT:

The last time we did that we were hit with an early payoff penalty. Yes, it was in the contract on the last loan, never was in previous loans.

So check your contract with BOW before signing the dotted line or before paying off early.

You've got to trust me on this:
I'm not all that like-able!

I suspect they have some hefty refinancing fees.

I was already adding a few extra dollars to each payment so I may just increase it and that will have the same effect as a lower APR in terms of paying less interest... and paying it off sooner.
I was put off by the Good Sam Calculator as well… I would give them a ring and have them do the Quote. I was with USAA and then re-fied to Good Sam.

We just bought our new coach in March, financed it with the dealer (for an extra $3,000 off the price), with Bank of the West 5.74%. However, we got a home equity loan/mortgage (house was fully paid for) with Bank of America. Since we have other accounts with them, we got a rate of 3.25% and paid of the Bank of the West loan.

Refinancing probably would involve extra closing costs/fees, although you'll need to run the numbers. Consider continuing making your extra principal payments, as it might be cheaper.

I had a house that I purchased in 1998 with a 30 yr. mortgage, but by making big extra principal payments, I had it almost completely paid off in 10 years. (saved a lot of $ in interest).

Yup! I saw 3.99% in a magazine today. Call them, and it may even be lower!

That's probably for their 5 year loan. It goes up from there for longer terms.

I'm a member of 2 credit unions and neither one of them does RV loans. I asked if I could get a regular car loan on my motorhome and they said no.

If the refi is due to lack of employment during this covid-19 pandemic, your lender might defray payments without penalty for a period if that helps.

This is exactly what I have been doing for any loan I have.

We have M&T Bank. 4.99% for 20 years last November. I’m making about 3 times the regular payment and making extra payments when I can (like the recent relief check). Hope to have it gone in about 4 years.
