Refrigerator not cooling

I have an issue with the refrigerator not cooling down. It is not listed in the owners manual either. Any ideas. it is not cooling when plugged in or on battery.

My 1937 Thor Henway requires a bit of kerosene to get the coal fired up for the ice box.

Have you tried propane?
When I'd it start not starting
Are there any lights
Did it throw a code.
Most of all DO YOU HAVE THE USE/STORE SWITCH IN THE RIGHT POSITION

It is a Thor Four Winds 26 ft.
The green light is on and the temperature icon is on with 4 cold ice snowflakes lit up.
I have it plugged in but have not tried propane yet
It happened last trip and we just put ice in the refrigerator and freezer

Your fridge does not cool on battery, but it needs 12 VDC from the house batteries or converter to Control the fridge cooling.
It cools on 120 VAC from Shore Power (SP) or the generator.

The fact that you have lights displayed on the control panel indicate you have the 12 VDC control power.

Shift the fridge to propane cooling to see if that works.
If it does, you likely have a bad AC heating element ($).
If it does not you may have a bad control board ($) or a bad cooling unit ($$$$).

If it is a new coach, the house battery bank disconnect is labeled Master Power. As said, it must be on to run a RV fridge. If the light in the fridge doesn't come on when you open the door you have a problem. Remember it takes 12 hours to cool down an empty RV fridge. A little faster on propane.

One more... is the RV level??
The absorption style fridges (those with propane as an option) are VERY sensitive to level... The fridge will appear to be on, but not cool.. Level the RV if it isn’t already, the try it again.

Make Sure all the door seals are making good contact by sliding a dollar bill all the way around

Every time you open a door will take a minimum of 1/2 hour to catch the temperature back to where it was

Also be sure the thermistor is connected to a coil

There is quite a trouble shooting list if you continue have issues

Also, if the outside temp is above 85, these absorption fridges often perform poorly since the backside compartment is getting too hot (especially on propane). Some possible (partial remedies) are to open the exterior fridge vent and get some cooler air in there, add fan(s) to exhaust the hot air, and/or add a circulation fan inside the fridge. I've added fans to the nth degree but at 110 degrees these absorption fridges are not up to the task.

That hasn’t been our experience. But you do have to pay more attention with an absorption fridge. We have this monitor so we can continually check on the actual temps inside. Typically we will have to reset the temp control to a colder level during a hot day with lots of opening and closing of the doors and then dial it back during the night to prevent freezing the milk. I also have added a “Fridge Defender” which can include external and internal fans to improve efficiency. I know residential refrigerators are all the rage these days but for us they are way too power hungry.

There should be a heating element for 120 on the back of the fridge, if it works on propane and not on 120 the element might be bad. Make sure it's level

There are some good Youtube videos showing how to test a heating element in the RV fridge, if you got some electrical know how they simply disconnect the heating element from the control board and hook it directly to an extension cord, they put a small bowl of water in the fridge and let it set over night and the next day if the heating element is good the bowl of water should be frozen, some of the common problems is the control board getting wet from rain or washing the RV, I have added 3 computer fans to the top of my exhaust vent and it really helps

Do you have a 3/way fridge. Most are gas and electric only. They both uses 12 volts for control circuits only. Where is your thermister located. Top right side of the fins????

Being a bit new to our 20 Thor quantum. Fridge not running then I found this Xantrax panel pushed the on button and it turned on. Also knew it had to be leveled. Still figuring things out
