Retirement is great, congratulations!!! Only problem I have discovered: Every day is Saturday but you never get a weekend off!!! Terrible problem to have!

Thanks everyone!! If life can't get any better...we were having our "just us celebration party" at Eagle's Landing Country Club Friday night...were dancing to one of our favorite songs by Roy Orbison. Got back to our table and realtor had emailed an offer on the house...same day as her retirement!! Excellent, per-qualified offer very near asking price with no closing drama. On the market only 16 days!! Closing on 2/29 if all goes well. See you guys sooner than we planned!! LG

Wishing you and your lady best of luck! I retired 8 years ago, and my wife two years ago, best decision we've made.

Congratulations on both the retirement and the house sale! Happy trails! 5 years for hubby and 3 for me. Could have gone back to work many times, but have never looked back and never regretted it once. As some have already said, none of us are guaranteed any tomorrows in this world, so today is a good time to start doing the things we promised ourselves we would do. Have a good time doing it!

two things

OUTSTANDING great job .

#2
on my last day, i turned in my ID badge at security,

emptied my desk, sent the last good bye emails and smiled like a possum eating poop off a barbed wire fence.

we were leaving the next day to finish moving to our new rv port here in texas, a few days before a large tree limb fell on the new port and by the pictures i just needed a chain saw to clean it up once we got to texas.

SO picture this, I am walking through HOME DEPOT not far from where i just left for the last time.

I still had on my suit and tie and smiling like a giddy child as i walk up to check out, with my new chainsaw, oil and a can premix fuel.
the lady says oh would you like a warranty, I said in a straight face, that that would not be necessary as i just left work and needed a chainsaw to clean up some issues.

i thought she was going to pass out

i didnt say anything else and swiped my card, got my receipt and walked out of the store

i have been smiling since

Congratulations and remember that you do not have to do much any day. Been retired just over ten years. Retired at age 55 and glad I did and the wife is too. So relax.

Congratulations all around. Entering a fabulous time of life.
You have now reached the time when you realize that weekends are for people who work. Every day is the best.
