I have 2011 freedom elite class c. Entry door Gas arm mounts to the top of the door has 4 screws on the outside of the door the screws keep loosening up and looks like there going to screw up the door. Any other mounting ideas the awning is right next to the door so if I just took the arm off it would swing into the awning when it is out.

Could you use bolts that go entirely through the door instead of just screws?

I could possibly do thru bolts but the door frame and seal are right there I think the door would not shut all the way As far as lock tight that may work but I'm thinking the fiberglass were the holes are for the screws may be stripped. It just seems like a terrible design

If the holes are shot...

Try filling in the holes with JB's Weld-Paste, drill a pilot hole, and re-thread some fresh self-threading crews into it.

If there is room - make a metal plate larger than current mounting area. Screw and glue it to door and then mount it to the plate. This is typically how basement doors are fixed - there is even a kit.

Yes, you might have to move it slightly and fill the old holes. But it could work.
