Full wall slide trim slipping down at rear of coach

The bottom trim on the slide is falling down. I can't see where it has any fasteners to hold it up. The trim has an aluminum angle on the back which may have glued in place.

I am thinking a few well-placed screws through the aluminum angle into the bottom of the slide wall frame should do the trick.

Anybody else had this problem? How was it fixed?

Thanks

Now understand the problem better

Went to where we keep the RV today for a closer look at the problem. It seems that several of the screws that are supposed to be holding the trim have corroded and lost their heads. No sign of water damage, just bad screws. I think some new stainless steel screws are in order. This thing was manufactured in early 2015, so it seems a bit soon for things to rust out. We'll try the warranty approach and maybe double up with some 3/16 pop rivets later.

I'd recommend other owners take a look under the edge of their slides.

Please be more specific as to the location and nature of the problem. What make and model coach? Where, exactly, is the problem. Can you post pictures?

Sorry no pictures to post. I will take a couple the next time I go to the rv park.

The coach is a 2015 Hurricane 32n. The trim piece runs along the outside bottom of the slide and has the rubber weatherstripping attached. It has a 1.5 inch aluminum angle on the back that is screwed to the bottom edge of the long slide wall. These are the screws that are failing.

A few pictures of the problem

Although you can't see it in the pictures, the screw heads have clearly corroded and popped off leaving the threaded screw body behind.

There are some improper screw related Thor recalls related to awnings. I would report this.

I purchased a Thor hurricane34f in May 2016. I am experiencing the same problem with the rear end of the lower slide out trim separating and missing screw heads. Did you discover the cause of the problem?

I took it to CW and they replaced the rusted screws and recaulked the trim piece. So far it has been ok. In my opinion the screws should be stainless steel, but they appear to be standard zinc coated steel. Time willl tell.

Ok, after I updated this topic a few days ago, I took another look at the screws on the slide trim. More screw heads have popped off. So I went to Home Depot and bought some #8 x 3/4 stainless sheet metal screws, drilled some new holes next to the broken screws, and reinforced the trim. Fingers now crossed some more.

My coach was built in December 2014. Maybe Thor has upgraded the screws on later builds, but it is worth checking IMHO.
