If it is indeed a slide lock bar, it is probably for locking your slide closed. If the Schwintek slide malfunctions, a temporary fix is to disconnect the motors so that you can push the slide in. But with the motors disconnected, you have to ensure the slide does not move back out.

This is typically done with a 2x4 or other such item wedged between the coach wall and the backside of the slide's inner wall. I have never heard of Thor supplying a slide lock bar.

Perhaps it is the awning bar - which you would have if you have a manual awning. The awning bar is a long metal pole, used to grab the strap at the top of the awning to pull it down.

If your awning is automatic (electrically extend and retract), then you would not need an awning bar.

Otherwise, I have no idea.

Our Axis came with a slide lock bar. It is definitely used to lock the slide "in".

Slide Lock Bar

You install the slide lock bar when traveling. It was explained to me that it's just an extra protection when on the road. I have been installing it whenever we are traveling. There should be a little sticker somewhere by your entry door explaining the bar. Just don't forget it when you set-up at campsite. I did that once....popped the trim of the slide. thank goodness I didn't crack the trim. Fired up the air compressor when I got home and nailed it back on. Lesson learned

My 34E also came with the bar inside of the panty cabinet, (and absolutely no explanation during the delivery walkthrough)! And there was no sticker explaining it's use.

What I later discovered by watching some 34E YouTube videos, (advertising by various dealers selling their 34E coaches), is that they demonstrated it being placed on top of the large sofa/dinette slide when it's retracted.

It's placed on top of the slide, behind the trim molding, right about the middle.

Now that you mention it. I now have about 8,000 miles on my 2014 34E Hurricane. It's been driven from Florida to California. It's been up to the Eastern High Sierras, and down to Death Valley, and all over the mountains of Southern California and, I completely forgot that I even had the bar, so it's never been installed. Ooops.

Dealer tech told me never to use it unless the slide fails like mentioned as one time you will forget it is there and try to open your slide - crunch! Mine is under the bed hidden away from harm = me!!

I received 2 slide lock bars with my Challenger and was told during the PDI that they are for use when the slide fails, has to be manually pushed in and are used to hold the slide in while taking the coach in for service. Since I have 3 slides I questioned why there were only 2 slides locks and that is when I got the explanation above.
