Slide out motor

Do you have to put fluid in the motor or pump that operates the slide out or is it an electric motor that is the drive mechanism that is used on a 2021 hurricane motorhome

All Hurricanes made in the last 8 years use the LCI Schwintek In-Wall electric slide system. <[PDF]Schwintek in Wall Slide Out - My RV …

No fluid required, you have electric motors.

LCI has a lubrication "How to" video on YouTube but they have since rescinded that advice and advise to not lubricate it. Check you slide manual maintenance section.

Just a reminder in case no one explained to you -- when you open or close the slide do not stop it before it is fully open or closed. Depress the switch and yo'll here the motors and the slide will start moving. When it gets to the full open or full closed position, continue to hold the button for about an additional 5 seconds after the slide has stopped moving and the motors have stopped.

By doing this you increase the likelihood that the motors WILL NOT get out of sync. When the motors get out of sync the slide can jam and not fully open or close.

You should know become familiar with how to resent your slide motors -- because I guarantee at some time you will experience their becoming out of sync. Here is the procedure for resending:

Resynchronizing the Slide-out Motors
1. Fully extend the slide room using the switch. Keep the switch engaged until the motors shut down on their own.
2. Retract the room 1-2 inches.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until both motors shut down at the same time. In many cases, two or three repetitions are necessary to re-sync the system.
4. Fully extend and then retract the room. Again, always let the motors shut down on their own before releasing the switch.

Very good advice.
