Slide problem on 29M

I have a 2018 Thor 29 mm Hurricane that the super slide only slides out 7in and stops I have checked the hydraulic oil and it is Midway on the dipstick not sure where to proceed from here I can retract the slide but it will only go out about 7 in. Is there some type of limit switch that may have stopped working?

The slide stops on high motor current. It sounds like something is jamming the slide. Have you inspected the rollers underneath it to see if one has a problem?
Maybe something has rolled under the slide causing an issue?

The slide controller is in a basement compartment under the center of the slide. The slide controller will flash codes for the slide error. Here is the location of your slide manual which was included in your Thor manuals black bag.

1-8 Error codes
During operation when an error occurs the board will use the led’s to indicate where the problem exists.
For motor specific faults the green led will blink 1 time for motor 1, and 2 times for motor 2. The red led will blink from 2 to 9 times depending on the error code.
The error codes are as follows:
2 Battery drop out: Battery capacity low enough to drop below 6 volts while running
3 Low battery: Voltage below 8 volts at start of cycle
4 High battery: Voltage greater than 18 volts
5 Excessive motor current: High amperage, also indicated by 1 side of slide continually stalling.
6 Motor short circuit: Motor or wiring to motor has shorted out.
8 Hall signal not present: Encoder is not providing a signal. Usually a wiring problem.
9 Hall power short to ground: Power to encoder has been shorted to ground. Usually a wiring
problem.
When an error code is present, the board needs to be reset. Energizing the extend/retract switch resets the board. Energize the extend/retract switch again for normal operation.

Your slide it totally electric 12 volt Schwintek in-wall triple track. More info including the trouble shooting guide is available on line at <https://support.lci1.com/>

I also think that there is something underneath that prevented from going out just can't find it

I got the slide to open, there must of been something like material under a roller but I am not sure! Thanks for the assistance.

Since you have the kitchen in the slide there is a "bag" that holds the flexible hoses and cables that go from the chassis to the movable slide. That "bag" has been known to get out of place and cause problems on other's coaches.

I think you may have the same issue that I have. I know what is causing it and how to deal with it until I can get it looked at by an expert. If you wish, give me a call at 815-289-2587. I can explain the root cause and send you a picture of what I found. Good luck! Mike Leitner

If you wouldn't mind, it would be beneficial to post your conclusions here.

Roller position

Check the wear pattern on the plates under the slide room
You can tell if there is a problem with the roller by the track that it makes on the underside of the slide room floor

V roller

Look behind the seal to check the V roller
The little snap ring can pop off or the v roller can break

Sorry about that. I will explain what I found. Mounted on the frame under the slide is a "T-Bar" that rides in a channel in the slide to keep the slide aligned. Unfortunately, there is a step in the channel that reduces its width by about 1/4" on each side when the slide is retracted about 6". If the slide is slightly misaligned, it will catch on the T-Bar creating a hard mechanical stop. When this happens, I can use a crowbar in there to force the slide around the T-Bar in order to fully retract the slide. I need to have an expert look at why this is happening and to find a more permanent solution. Below is a photo taken from under the slide looking a the white T-Bar. I hope this is helpful!

Slide issues also

We have a 2019 Thor Four Winds and recently one side of the slide has started giving us trouble. We watched the video about overriding with the controller but unfortunately it didn’t work. We have to physically push from the outside to close that one side. We were in grid power and had the coach running. What next?!?!

That T-Bar is a safety device to keep the retracted slide from bouncing up and down when moving. It should not touch anything on the way in or out. Check to see if there is an adjustment possible where a slot is under the screws holding it down and adjust it slightly left or right.
Good luck.

There should be roughly 3/4-1" from each end of the t-bar to the channel it rides in. The t-bar is held in place by 4 screws accessible from under the coach. Mine were held in place by 1 screw which allow the bar to shift and bind.

Picture 1 looks like normal wear - the floor rollers are making contact with the plate.

Picture 2 shows that the floor rollers are not supporting the slide but only where the wear mark is. Either a misadjusted floor roller or a broken one. As a result the weight of the slide is on the v roller - not good.

Picture 3 shows no support from the floor rollers under the slide. They need to be adjusted to support the slide.

Picture 4 shows a good roller in the front that probably needs adjusting and a broken roller in the back that needs replacing.

The slide should have the majority of its weight resting on the floor rollers and not on the v roller.

Here is a picture of my coach - the slide was not resting on the floor roller and had to be adjusted.

Picture 3 shows a worn v roller due to the weight of the slide being on it - not good. You can see that the gear track is worn due to all of the metal filings. The top grooves of the gear track are disfigured where the spur gea had damaged it. All caused by the weight of the slide on the v roller and not the floor rollers.

Your RV has the 3tRAX slide system. which is all electric. Best case scenario, you just have to synchronize the two motors. Check for obstructions first and don't have all your cabinets loaded up.

There is a video on the Thor YouTube channel. I think you have to let it out a few inches then retract (several times).
The hydraulic fluid you checked is for your leveling system.
