Where to place the level?

Where is a good place in the coach (Axis 25.2) to check for level. I have read that some level the frige. I can place the level on the frige freezer door and it is different on the frige door, I can place it on the cabinet around the frige and it is different as well. It doesn't matter where I place it in the coach, the floor, the counter, the table or even the exterior door from the out side it is different. I can place it on the floor in 3 different spots and all 3 will be different.

On the inside of the freezer. It is the one thing that requires being level to operate properly. Once you have obtained level there set a level on your dash and adjust it to match the temporary one in your freezer. I have one on the dash for side to side and on the door for front to rear. Makes it easy to get leveled as you pull in to a camp site by glancing at the levels.

I just set mine on the middle of the floor in the living area.
If we're level: the 'Fridge will be close enough.
My reasoning: I don't know how "level" those components were; when they were installed.

I leveled last night using my exterior door frame. Just checked inside the freezer and it is so close it's scary. Thanks

I keep it real simple, when water in toilet is centered is level. I know it sounds kinda low tech but using the yellow leveling ramps is very quick simple process. I also use the yellow ramps when doing oil change/lube.

"...when water in toilet is centered..."
Is that before; or after you've used it?

I’ve found the counter top and floor just behind cab to be good places for the level... and the fridge ends up level too... but the final test is asking DW if it feels right to her... then adjusting as needed!

Right now we're 8 inches low in the front of the 24.1 and the fridge is working just fine.
I'm not going to say it's an old wives tale, because it isn't. I'm going to say it's a fish story and the fish/angle just keeps getting smaller and smaller with the telling of the story.

I think 'level' is very over rated.

(there are 40 or so leveling apps. Some tell you within a tenth of an inch which corner to raise)

I don't think anyone here is saying that the fridge won't work right if it's not level. Without getting technical (the info is found easily), you can likely get away with running the fridge off level and not cause immediate damage. Doing it many times over a long period and you're just tempting fate.

I've seen references to a plus or minus, of three degrees of leeway...

Yeah, it will work fine on a slope.... My driveway is very unlevel (about 8 inches as well) and I noticed it was NOT cooling as well as I thought it should have the last time we were loading it up (temp slowly rising). Once I got on the road the temp dropped pretty quick. And I had the frig on the night before (in a level storage shed) so it was already pre cooled.

I think its a cumlative thing as well. The more you do it the more damage it can cause over time. Off level 1 out of 10 times.... Im not gong to worry about it.

I try to get within a half a bubble and call it good enough. Sometimes its off a full bubble.

I'll buy that. It makes perfect sense it would cool slower.
Ours was indeed jacking around at first but I wasn't sure if was the fridge itself or the grandturds being in and out of it. [/U]

Kitchen countertop...then walk around bit. If it feels pretty level...I'm good. Trying to find that "perfect bubble" will never happen.

So if the bathroom floor is wet then you throw 3 blocks under one of the tires?

Or If the ceiling is wet you call for a wrecker to turn you over?

Funny one Bob. This thing gets major cleaning before every trip. Got a 3 and 5 year old that cannot aim good. Wife being retired nurse is clean nut.

The Vegas we have is considerably nose down. The yellow camco drive on ramps do great for leveling. We do not have conventional post levelers as many of my pals have. At the track they end up using plywood under levelers in rainy season. I just use the drive on ramps. They do not seem to sink in easy.

The service tech when we picked up told us keep a little water in the bowl so seal will not dry out. Not much but enough to immerse rubber. He also told me is quick indicator of level by looking in clean bowl.

The yellow ramps I have are rated for 3,000 lbs each.

Thanks for all the help. I had a custom home building company for 25 years (retired 2 years ago) and had been in construction for most of my life so maybe I am being to anal. If one of my guys had done work like I have seen in these RV's I would have strung them up.
That being said I love my Axis 25.2.

We usually hit really close with the auto level on our Challenger, but I will use the bathroom door as a level just to double check and it works great. Open the the door about half way, if it swings closed or open, you're off a bit, correct as necessary. Also have a level app on my phone which will get really close as well. Just beware your phone case may affect your readings.

I usually end up within about .1 or .2 degrees of level, no problems.

If the Bowl is yellow: you might need a different cleaning solution...
