Stabilizing my RV

When we are stabilizing our RV in the space the front tires come off the ground. We don’t want to leave them like that. Any suggestions on what to use to put under the frame?

Why don't you want to leave it like that?
The value of having automatic levelers is you don't have to carry a Rick of wood with you.

Maybe 10,000,000 times a year an rv is parked with the front wheels off the ground.


As an added bonus to how yours is stabilizing:
Some here are worried about their tires sitting on the ground too long and are looking for a way to get them off the ground so as to not create (an imagined and long discredited) permanent flat spot.

When this happens with our Vegas, I sometimes switch to manual and lower the front a few inches. Doing that cuts down on the pointing and commenting by people passing by, but really doesn't make that much difference. It just doesn't look quite as weird.

I never allow the wheels of my RV to be off the ground on the leveling jacks. My owners manual says not to do it as well. I carry a bit of dunnage to go under the tires for the few sites that are not level.

Try dropping both ends manually; until all for wheels are back on the ground.

I get it, sometimes the place where you park has a steep slope.

I have been there & done that before with my front wheels well off the ground (Note: never allow your rears to leave the surface unless on level ground).

So my suggestion is if you feel uncomfortable with your fronts off the ground and that’s the only way to get level...then you should probably move to another spot that is more level.

Bev: If it is level with the front wheels off the ground, you can stack locking blocks (yellow or orange usually come in a bag of 10) or boards under the front tires and then stabilize. Blocking under tires is much easier than trying to support from the frame.

I like many Class A owners typically use manual level almost all the time

You will level quicker

Closer to the ground

Bit mor stability

Usually doesn't require extra steps

I prefer the Passenger side which is the Bedroom side slightly higher

Very easy to watch the 1/2 bath door as a perfect leveling tool
