Has anyone had this stabilizer installed on your MH. Of course, All dealers will say they are wonderful even if they are not.

Any feedback ??

Yes. It’s just about a must on a large class A. Bolt on easy to install. I would also get an alignment. You will notice a big difference.

Have you done a search here on the stabilizer? You'll get all kinds of information.

I had a Safe-T-Plus installed after alignment. Strongly recommend both.

Yes, being new to the RV world we had the stabilizer, SUMO springs all around, and a front end alignment, ......... 100% difference.

My 2022 Vegas 24.1 came with a factory steering stabilizer. Are folks replacing the factory unit?

98%(a guess) do not change it.
Few people say they are unhappy with the upgraded change.

I have a pretty hard corps front suspension change but I still have the original stabilizer.

It’s actually a stock steering “Damper” on an E350 or E450
I believe that the F53 chassis the OP’s driving also has a Ford OEM steering Damper.

That said…
- you can upgrade the Damper to a more robust Damper (Bilstein for abt $100)
Or
- you can remove the Damper and install a $500 (DIY cost) Steering Stabilizer. The Stabilizer has a large “return to center” spring that many RV owners swear by as offering real driving improvement

Let me start off by saying we are new to RVing, and we went all in with a class A Thor ACE 32.3
My driving experience might not be the same as everyone else.
I had the stock dampers removed and replaced with the steering stabilizer, had sumo springs placed all around and most importantly, I learned on this forum, to go get a front end alignment. The drive and the ride changed dramatically or yall, could be I just got more time in the saddle and became more comfortable and confident in driving this beast.

We installed the roadmaster and it was a night and day difference. They really should come with one from the factory. Like mentioned above, also get an alignment, you won't regret it.

stabilizer

Should you do an alignment before or after installing the stabilizer ?

You can install it before. Just make sure the alignment shop loosens it prior to adjustments. And retightens after. A good alignment guy will already know that. You might also consider the CHF (cheap handling fix) and get front tires balanced.

I would do the alignment first. They will have to loosen it anyway and you will end up resetting it.

Installed the Safe-T-Plus on our 2016 ACE 29.4. What a great difference. We give it 5- Stars.

Steering Stabilizer

I have spoken with several mechanics and their recommendations are the same. If your front wheels shake when crossing railroad tracks then you probably need one. If not don’t waste your money. This was in response to my questions about my Ford F53 chassis 38 ft Motorhome

Single best improvement I made to our class A (windsport 29m). No more white knuckle driving.

That answer would be to the question: "Do I need a steering damper?". Not the same thing as a steering stabilizer.

If the mechanic does not know the difference, get a new mechanic.

I installed a safe-t-plus on our 2016 (E450) Vegas 24.1 ... I guess that's kinda technically a class A ... honestly, I didn't notice much of a difference. Normal road driving was fine before and is still fine now. As soon as there is any sort of breeze or wind, I still go through tons of underware

We did the same thing after putting up with the rough ride for way too long.. Highly recommend it.
