Thor Vegas 25.2 2015
My wife and I are looking at purchasing a 2015 Vegas 25.2 and was curious about what current owners think of the RV. I am concerned about some information I read online about the low cargo capacity of these RUVs.

Welcome to the site.
In what respect are you talking cargo capacity? Weight or volume? (e.g. what you can load up in it or tow with it vs how much exterior storage?)

I referencing the weight load capacity of the RV itself. I show articles that say the GCWR is13,900 and the official brochure from 2015 shows it at 18,500. I will be going back to the dealer tomorrow to look at the sticker specs on the RV itself, but there is a big difference between 1,400 lbs and 6,000 lbs (GVWR shows 12,500).

Don't really need to go to the dealer if you have the VIN. Just use one of the handy VIN decoder sites (pick a Ford specific one) and you'll learn if it is an E-350 or an E-450 (and thus has the corresponding GCWR).

2015
I believe the 2015 model has the windshield that is 4-5 inches taller than the later models, 16 and up. Read up on this but it could be a big liability for you in the future.

On my 2015 25.1 the GCWR is 18,500 lbs. The GVWR is 12,500. Towing capacity is 5,000.
My actual on the road weight with one person on board is 11,920.
It's real easy to over load a Vegas/Axis.

The 2015 does have the higher windscreen. Changes are good that the unit you are looking at has already had the windscreen replaced. Mine was replaced in early 2016 and has been fine since.

Welcome to the forum! Our Vegas 25.2 has served us well for almost 4 years, over 27,000 miles and around 300 nights. For us and the way we travel, it is a nice fit.
We have one of the first 2016 Vegas units, which has the higher windshield. It seems that something went wrong with the way those windshields were mounted, and most of us had them replaced under warranty, as they cracked from stress rather soon. I only recall one forum member that reported two windshields replaced.
We rarely use the drop down bed, and have had no issues with putting the back slide out at overnight stops at Wally's.
Do your homework by searching on this forum. Some owners have spent a bundle on suspension upgrades, and some have spent little or nothing. You'll never make it a sports car, but your $$ can improve handling to a degree. Most important is getting an alignment. I'd demand that in your purchase negotiations, even if it was done by the original owner when new.

It is worth it to look at capacities vs your requirements.
The e350 based units fit some people fine. The heavier e450 is required when additional weight may be added. We mostly tow a 5,500 lb open double axle trailer with a drag car. We load many of the tools and spare parts in the Vegas 24.1 we have. We liked the 25.2 floorplan but liked/needed ability to use with slide in.
We usually go down road above both GVWR and GCVW rating of the e350. The e450 hhas enough open capacity when we travel that merging/passing is zero issue.
I do know a couple who bought the e350 and ended up going to an F53 based machine which had issues to a super C diesel that can tow a small county.
We are at almost 3 years of ownership and 22,000 miles and the Vegas has performed great. We are currently prepping for trip to NC for a vacation after using Vegas for races last 2 weekends. The sheer utility and ease of use is impressive.

I guess you need to ask your self what you plan on doing with this RV?
Will you be towing? If so will your toad be 5000# or less? Are you guys packrats like my wife is?
Personally I dont think you can go wrong with this RV you looking at. We love our 2017 Axis (E450 25.4 floor plan) but current we dont tow (but we plan to next year or so).
But even loaded up with fuel and water and camping gear/food I still had 9000# left for towing/payload compacity (Rated at 8000# on my rig but I would not try over 6000# to be safe IMO).
