No alarm when headlights are left on and key is turned off

I've never had a car that didn't ding or have some type of alarm system to let you know the headlights are still on when the ignition key is turned off. I don't know if my 2014 Hurricane ever had one or not since I bought it used. Is it suppose to sound an alarm and, if so, is there any way to fix it? Or is there a way to add one if it never had one?

Good Question!

I recently purchased a 2014 Windsport 34f, and that is the first thing I noticed too. I have left the lights on several times, but I have caught myself and turned them off. One of these times I am not going to be so lucky.

I hope someone tells us there is a button to push to correct this problem.

My 2016 ACE 27.2 does not have one either as I found out when I stopped at a Flying J at night and went inside to the store. When I came out I noticed the headlights were on but it was too short a time to cause a problem.
I don't know if there is still a market for such an add-on device now.

Doesn't have one (I have a 2014 Hurricane as well) - but they are quite easy to add... All you need is a buzzer... and connection points to the headlight circuit and any 'ignition on' circuit.

The positive wire from buzzer connects to a source powered with headlights... the negative wire goes to a source powered by ignition... Ignition off/headlights on activates the buzzer.
If you wire backwards - nothing hurt - it just won't sound in the right cases - so simple test and reverse wires if needed.

I tapped into the interior dash lights - which come on with headlights... and if I remember the heated mirror switch which comes on with the ignition. The volume varies by the intensity of the dash lighting I discovered... lol - but I usually leave that toward high end... it was just the simplest access (in the drivers armrest) to add.

Here is a link giving one way to hook up:
How To Add A Headlight On Warning Buzzer/Chime - MidKnight Magic

For a $2 buzzer - really should be standard equipment... lol
