Stuck Check Valve on Propane Tank?

My tanks won't take any propane, the guy said the check valve must be stuck. Any ideas on how to unstick it?

You might try taking them to a propane supply that sells tanks. I believe they can change out the valves. Or just replace the tanks depending on how old they are.

You have multiple tanks in an Axis?

I have used a brass drift and tapped it with a brass or dead blow hammer lightly

Of course that is something you shouldn't try if your not mechanically inclined and aware of the risk

Only 1 tank on the Axis. I think I will just take it the the propane company in town.
Thanks.

Probably best

It is fairly common to have a valve stick in hot weather when the tank pressure is higher than during cool weather

Depends a lot on the available pump pressure of the fill equipment

I filled my own at the farm/ranch on equipment, cars, and tanks so dealt with stuck valves from time to time
