Comparing Thor 29.3 with Winnebago Vista VE

I've been researching a unit for our needs...seems a Thor 29.3 or the Winnebago Vista VE fit our need better than a Hurricane 31S....thoughts of anyone comparing the VE and the 29.3 would be appreciated...it seems th Winn VE was just introduced last spring so there is as much history as with the 29.3.

Asking price online for a 29.3 looks to be in the $88k and with VE more....

Oh, and is a 15,000 rated A/C unit adequate for a FL summer?

Took a Vista 29 VE for a test drive. Was pleased with the handling and layout but after much thought took it off our list due to the full wall slide. Only candidate that we are considering now is a Thor Hurricane or Windsport 31S.

Assuming these units have a similar R value to my 31 class C....

barely.
Mine is ok, but not great. In the heat of the day if we're out of the shade it starts getting a bit warmer than I'd like, and there's not enough power in it to cool it down all the way if you start hot.
It's rarely a problem though, and when it is it's only a few hours till it can catch up.

They are a touch smaller than mine, so that'll help

We have the Windsport 29M with dual AC and live in Texas, gets plenty cool even with our hot summers. The 31S isn't much bigger than the 29M, would think if you got dual AC it shouldn't be a problem, plus you get the 5500 generator.

We have a 2016 Ace 29.3 and wish there were two air conditioners. If we wait til it gets hot it takes a long time to cool it down... lesson... don't let it get hot til you turn on the air.

My 26' Class C has a 13,500 and like the other poster its barely enough. It will hold 70 degrees in 90 weather but it sure takes a long time to get there.

The Hurricane (and I assume the Windsport since they are siblings) offer a 50 amp option - which I would recommend...
It provides the 2 ACs, a larger genny, and more than 3 times the available power than 30 amp rigs.
('50amp' is 2 legs of 110v at 50amps EACH or 100amps of 110v...)

Have the 2 ACa when needed... We often use only one - and run the one furthest from us to keep noise down (both feed the ducts in ceiling). But if you need to cool down - running both does the job quickly.

Hmm, seems like people feel a two a/c setup is desireable in units 29'+...we live in FL and have both heat and humidity to deal with (vs. say Phoenix)...anyone have experience with a 13.5 or 15 a/c using a dehumidifier to 'help' to get to a feel-good comfort level?

We had hoped to find a gently used 29-31 footer...but basically no units have two a/c's and associated 50 amp.

With the above said, If anyone has an intro to a quality dealer with new Thors ....with two slide, dual a/c setup this would be helpful....we in the greater Tampa area.

David, money spent for AC, 50 amp, and generator will be worth it. A dehumidifier won't make much if any difference.
