Any idea what these are?

Just purchased a 2015 Siesta 24SR, found what looks like a photo sensor and a microphone under the dash. The "photo sensor" is held on with 2 screws, the "mic" is just clipped on. Salesman did not know.

Does your stereo have a phone interface? Might be the mic for the phone.

The radio does have bluetooth phone, I will make a call and tap on it and see it person on the other end gets annoyed. Pretty lousy place for a phone mic.

It is for the Bluetooth enabled head unit. My axxera has the same thing. That location looks pretty poor. The mic in mine has a ball molded to the side of it and you can plug it into the vents.. It just snaps between a couple of the fins.

The mic if for the telephone hands-free feature of your stereo. The photo sensor is for the tire blowout/accident prevention system. It monitors the status of your "shorts"!

Looks like it is definitely a mic for the add on radio/ bluetooth for phone. tested it by calling another phone and tapping on it. Will find a better location if I can.

Still can't figure out what the sensor is, had interior lights on in both the cab and the "cabin" covered up the sensor nothing changed. Guess is is the sensor to check the shorts!!!

Thank for the responses..

Steve

There is/was something similar looking to the sensor on the Thor Hurricane we are buying - it was for an anti-theft (dealer use) system that allows the coach to start up only after the salesperson enters a code on a handheld keypad.

Decided to follow the wires, and discovered it is an anti theft device. It is a Pursuit Remote Vehicle Security system. All the wires and device were just shoved in under the dash. Now I have to find out if I have to pay and get it activated, (or if I did pay for it and never got documentation). Pretty sloppy job if it is supposed to be permanent. I tidied it up and secured the box out of the way.

This was the type of security device that was attached to our Hurricane 27K when we were considering buying. It allows the sales reps to start the engine with a remote code. They leave an ignition key in the coach, then enter a code to allow the key start the engine.

It had been removed when we took delivery.
