Valance Fix (Final fix)

I have been battling the valances that surround the windows in our van since we took delivery. When the valance fell off the wall in the bed area of our 19L in the middle of the night, my wife made it clear what my next van project was. I had already fixed them 3 other times with different sized screws, different holes, etc. Unfortunately, the material that is used on the inside of the vans is not made to hang stuff on. I did find in disassembly, there is aluminum L-brackets glued behind the wall material where the valance self-tapping screws are supposed to catch but as you can imagine, were in the completely wrong spot to catch any of the screws. Attached are photos of my permanent fix. I bent some aluminum L-brackets and attached them with spring-loaded toggle bolts. The toggle bolts did require and interim washer and nut prior to fastening to hold them in the wall. The entire process was quite tedious for such an unsexy job. Any questions on my process, don't hesitate to DM me.

You made it work. You didn't say if the wife was happy? Remember, all RVs arrive as a kit!

Very nice!! I like the material pattern on your valances. Some of the patterns in RVs is so tacky! But those are very tasteful. Nice job!

Did a long weekend in the van, fully boondocking and valances were good. Wife happy. On to the next project with my "kit" campervan.
