Freedom Elite FE 30

It appears that the FE 30 model Class C has been retired. Any idea which Thor model is the replacement.. looked on Thor's webpage for service manuals and literature, and found nothing. Bought our rig in Oct 2016, used it 3 days and put a t away for the winter. Somewhat upset that it is no longer on production and can't seem to find much about specs. Any help would be appreciated.

Download and save this brochure from Thor. It contains the 30 FE information.

A generic owner's manual is a common complaint about Thor products. You won't find anything more detailed: They all come with that same manual.

You should have all the information about each appliance/item in the Thor bag, but nothing on the motorhome itself.

Ed Felker put together an owner's manual for Axis/Vegas units that has a lot of information that is common to all Thor's models. You can find that one here: http://www.thorforums.com/forums/f10...nual-4961.html

Thor Freedom Elite 30FE

This model has not been retired. I contacted Thor directly and they stated that you will not find this model on their web site. It is built specifically for and sold by Camping World only. It is similar to the Thor Fourwinds and Chateau.

We just bought our 30fe last month. Then we learned that Thor had discontinued it and noticed that a lot of the manuals and literature are for the 2017, not the 2018! Also, the combination screen on the dash is an Axxera. It won't start and it's not listed in any of the manuals. Going back to Camping World.

Hmm it was there when I posted it back in February, perhaps Thor removed it.

I’ve been told that the Freedom Elites have been discontinued as well. What I think is that CW contracted with Thor back in the recession for hundreds (maybe thousands) of house branded units. Given the times and the size of the order CW got a good price and Thor stayed busy during an industry down turn. I suspect that contract has been fulfilled now and since the industry has recovered won’t be renewed. I think it was for a fixed number of units rather than by model year so there are some 2018s. There certainly seem to be fewer Freedom Elites on CWs websites these days and in some cases used Freedom Elites are listed for more than they sold for new. It’s a strange industry!

The website is still there:
Freedom Elite Class C Motorhomes | Thor Motor Coach

Although it does appear that it is missing some branding..perhaps Thor will be taking it down soon as well.

Google the name. It’s installed where they build your unit. Mito makes it. I was able to download a manual.

No service manual other than the generic version in the black bag. It looks like someone would review one and develop a manual. It would surely sell.

I wouldn't count on the manual being very accurate anyway.

My 26fe has a place in the back for a additional TV with a HDMI Port. I called and no one could tell me where the port went to. Best answer I got from them is it is split from the port going to the TV in the front. Posted the question here and found it is routed to a cabinet above the fridge.

Were you able to install a tv in your bedroom and is it working?

Yes. Works great. I was able to use a stud finder to locate the edges of the mounting board in the wall to mount it. I had to play station hooked to it with the HDMI cable to watch DVD's but the HDMI cable is in the cabinet above the fridge and even with the door open to the cabinet the play station overheats and ended up dying. Needs a fan of some sort up there.
