Totally Disappointed with Our New Miramar

Okay, we picked up our unit on May 18th from a dealer in TX and realized we had a lever, slide, generator, drain value and door issues but due to time restraints we had to leave immediately. They recommended us to get a hold of our local Thor dealer to correct the issues. To this date only the drain valve and generator display has been fixed. I have brought to a local Thor dealer twice with multiple guarantees that this or that will fix everything. Yesterday I drove it an hour to dealer again to get the levers, slide and compartment doors fix. I drove it home four hours later with none of the new parts fixing anything. I have been in contact with Thor though this whole ordeal and they are only hand holding our issues, and yesterday I finally requested a new unit through Thor, which I doubt will happen but I had to start playing hard ball. Has anyone had this issue and if so how did you rectify the issue? Any insight is appreciated, thanks!

Have you considered making an appointment and having the work done at the Thor factory? The factory is a little over 3 hours away from you and might be the best option for getting your repairs done correctly.

I thought about it several times but they keep pushing to my local dealer. I am waiting for them to offer it, but I heard from my purchasing dealer that's probably a two month wait. I'm hoping it will come to that this week after they get my nasty-gram (email).

Sorry to Hear

Welcome to RV ownership! Sorry to hear about your troubles. Learn to fix things yourself whenever possible to keep your sanity. I'm still under warranty but refuse to take my coach in for repairs unless absolutely necessary, which has been twice.

I was able to fix one item, but my wife told me not to anything else because it might void the warranty. I see her point.

Read your warranty and comply with the instructions.

The warranty gives you specific instructions, and the address to send the letter, when there have been 2 or more attempts and/or the repairs take over 20 days.

Others on the forum have found that following the instructions in the warranty works wonders.

I'll check it out when I get home tonight, thanks. Right now the factory owner relations person is not returning my emails. This could get ugly...

That is why you need to send the letter to the address provided. That puts Thor on notice in compliance with the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. Sending emails does not comply with the provisions of the act. If it were me I would send the letter certified, or return receipt at a minimum, so someone has to sign for it.

If Thor people read this forum then why do they continue to have worthless cup holders, tv's, and batteries?

To be the guy with that job description!
"What do you do?"
"I'm the 'social media monitor' I read up on all the comments about Thor on the various forums and social media"
"Must be stressful!"
"Yup!"

LOL

Or the person might say " not really, we just read it, we don't actually do anything about it".

Come on Dave you know its all about the money. There are tons of upgrades they could do but that would raise the price. Lots of people dont want to pay more. If they do they can do the upgrades themselves like we do

Your warranty only lasts a year. I made three trips to Thor from Ma. Well worth it and it gets done right.

Fez,

Did you buy your motorhome at Motorhome Specialties in Alvarado
TX?

That is where I bought mine 2 years ago, good price, but being 750
miles from home no way I could return it to them for repairs
