Unknown Breaker

Anyone have an idea what this unlabeled breaker would go to? I haven’t been able to track it down.

Is your MH plumbed for a washer and dryer? That could be what this breaker is for.

mine had that breaker at the dealership and they removed it when i had them install the inverter. it's a nice wide open hole now i like to stab with a fork.

at least count your blessings. nothing in my coach is labeled.

I you feel comfortable around electric stuff. Unplug your unit from shore power and remove the panel cover. Look to see if that breaker even has wire attached to it. While at the breaker panel it would not hurt to take a screw driver and tighten all of the screws holding the wires. The ones on the ground bar and the one on each breaker.

I do have an Atwood combo gas/electric water heater and figured that's what it would be. However, it wasn't. I took the cover to the panel off and traced the wires to a computer type case fan that is used to move air inside the electrical panel.

So now the new question - where is the water heater breaker? I turned off the GFCI, microwave, and receptacle breakers and none of them controlled the electric portion of the water heater.

Any thoughts?

Maybe water heater? I don't see that listed.

(I posted the above and then when the thread refreshed I saw that you had posted that it was not the water heater. Perhaps one of the others is mislabeled but seems maybe you checked all of those.)

Maybe it has its own breaker closer to the water heater or some type of inline slow-blow? Can you get to the wiring area of the heater to snoop around?

How come when you turn that breaker off: my garage door opener quits working?

If we had known that you weren't going to retire from the USPS: we wouldn't have thrown that "Going Away" Party.

You guys are too funny. I can always count on Bob or Gritz for some zingers.

I think Thor likes to make our RV a mystery - What is this for? What does this do? Why dont this work? Where did these screws on the floor come from?

Keeps us guessing and entertained I guess. Otherwise life would be boring?

Just think: "What did you do on your trip" Well everyting went fine, nothing broke, Everything worked. Lots of room at the CG, CW rotated my tires in one hour for free".

That would not be any fun and all Forums would cess to exist.

So if you look at it Thor is doing a a favor.

They should include a Ouija Board; so that we can contact the folks who designed our rigs... They're obviously brain dead!

As a first time RV owner, having a Thor has definitely kept me on my toes.

I can access the wiring on the back of the water heater under the sink but I can't really tell where it runs to. It looks like it might have gone to a receptacle under the sink which is why I thought it might have been on the GFCI breaker.

Am I right in assuming there should be a breaker somewhere or do these sometimes just have relays and breaker type items built into the heater?

You should call Thor with your coach serial number and they will provide you with a wiring schematic that might help, though these are somewhat generic.

chances are:

- it's just filling an 'unused' slot
- it's for an 'optional' Electric water heater feed

find out by removing the panel cover. if no wire is exiting this breaker at the bottom, then it's just filling a space, otherwise it's powering something(!).

Some models have an outlet under the sink (hidden) that the water heater plugs into. I think you've found.that mouse! Flip that breaker and check power at the water heater. There was a guy recently whose water heater was not working. He found they never plugged it in.
