Vegas Fuse Question

I would like to buy spare fuses to carry in the coach in case one blows while camping. Can anyone suggest the the sizes I would likely need and should buy. Thanks for your help.

I would just look at the fuses that are already installed and by duplicates. Open the fuse box and make note of the fuse sizes and by spares by what you see.

LOL. I realize I can look at the fuse panel. There are a lot of fuses in the fuse panel. I am just wondering if any Vegas/Axis owners have had certain fuses that are more likely to be replaced.

I bought a package of assorted sizes, then bought extra 5 amps. The 5 amp is the only one I've used so far, because of the windshield washer pump problem.

Same here: only one I've had to replace was because of the defective windshield washer pump--I don't even think I needed to buy one as there are a lot of unused fuses in the box to begin with.

Oh yeah and another for the radio because it was sized too small when I replaced the Jensen.

On my first Vegas, the RV place I bought it from blew several fuses while working on the vehicle and I had to wait several hours for them to have replacements shipped from NAPA. They are the small Mini blade ATC fuzzes and they did not have any. I carry assorted sizes of all three kinds ATC, mini blade ATC and ATH as well as large 30 amp sizes that I use to hook up extra things directly to the battery. You can buy an assorted box of each size from Amazon for less than $20 and they take up almost no room. After spending a month at a time "on the hook" in my boat in the Bahamas and several times in my RV to Alaska, extra fuses are cheap insurance. You never know when you're going to need one and how far you might have to go to get it. I have given one out to boaters and RVers a number of times because they didn't have one and the nearest store was many miles away.

Note you have "mini" fuses in the coach fuse box ( in the front compartment), and " micro" fuses ( smaller yet) in the chassis fuse box ( under the dash) - so you will need an assortment of both. I have blown fuses in both ....

Coming in late on this thread. BUT my washer pump does not work. Tried to find the fuse for it, no joy. Found fuse box under dash. But there is no fuse diagram. The "owners manual "I got with the RV is for a utility truck not an RV. No help there. I suspect the pump is bad but would like to to at least check the fuse before pulling the pump. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a 2017 Thor vegas 25.3

Thanks, Dave

Dave, check the fuse panel in the front compartment under the driver's seat. It's on the right wall next to the slide controller. This controls most the dash (not instrument panel).

I thought the wiper washer motor was bad once on my ACE; until I figured out that pulling on the washer control arm controlled the bright lights and I had to push in from the end to activate the washer.

Anyway, a multimeter will negate your hunt for the fuse (unless you don't get 12 VDC when expected).

Check the fuse panel for it. If the fuse is blown and the washer blows a fresh fuse call Thor for a warranty replacement.

Gnach, the only fuse box I can find by/under drivers seat is under the dash. And there is no diagram of the fuses to tell me which fuse is for the pump. My slide out control is on the galley cabinet side by the door.

Tfryman My next step was to test the 5 amp fuses with my multimeter. If all the 5 amps check good gonna go with pump replacement I guess.

Thanks Dave

If I remember correctly, the wiper and washer use the same fuse - and it is the factory panel under the dash. Fuse #14 sticks in my mind, but probably wrong..... I found a fuse diagram on the Internet - I think it was a Ford manual for the stripped E chassis. If you got ANY manual for your Vegas you were lucky - I got none !

On my 2015 vegas 24.1, it's fuse # 45 in the fuse box under drivers side dash.

washer fix F&M (friggin mystery)

So I guess at one time or another the switch on the turn signal failed. They installed another one on the dash. I had seen it and tried it but still no joy.Fuses checked good. Applied DC power to motor via jumper leads. pump worked like gang busters. Yes I did get wet lying under neath the front end. After that the switch on dashboard worked fine. Switch on turn signal still inop. Guess the motor just needed some shock treatment. All is well on the motorhome front.
Thanks to everyone for their input and time.

Dave

The turn signal stalk does not operate the windsheld wipers on the Axis / Vegas. Not sure why they didnt just use the Ford switches? THor installed thier own switch on the dash. Very odd.
