Vegas radio and switch problems

Two questions.
Has anyone had to replace their Jensen radio? We were told the original radio is no longer available and we need a new one. Also told we could replace it our selves. Do we need any special tools to do it ourselves?

Also, our Vegas is in storage and we've had trouble with the batteries going dead on us. We think the faulty radio was the problem. Now wondering what the house battery disconnect switch actually disconnects. We were told " everything" but that doesn't' sound right.

Appreciate some in-put.

I replaced my Jensen 212 with the 215 (all the details for that are in this thread).

At this point in time, though, the 212, and 215 are obsolete. Jensen has a new radio the JRV9000 that replaces both.

The tools for removing your radio should be in the Thor bag you received with all the paperwork.

And if not - auto parts stores sell them... less than $10.
2 U shaped wires that go into the 4 holes on the front of the unit... A little playing and it pops right out.

I replaced my JRV212 with the JRV9000. The 212 was bad, but at least I could see the cameras while driving. The the JRV9000 is terrible because it is really hard to see from the driver seat. I wouldn't waste my money on it again. Look for something else.

I replaced my radio with the Pioneer AVH-4100 NEX. It is a great radio with a brighter screen. It supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
