Velcro on premium pull down shades

Anybody know exactly what the purpose of the Velcro on the pull down shades is for? I was thinking that it helps reduce the sound of them bumping against the coach when driving down the road, but thought there might be another purpose.

Your initial thought is indeed correct. Noise reduction is the only purpose of the velcro on the shades. If you have dual shades the outer one should have the Velcro and be slightly lower than the inner when traveling.
