So, I finally had a chance this morning to go out and fix this issue. There was SO much extra water hose, the thing was sagging down about eight inches below where the water enters the fresh water tank and there was still water sitting in it from where I had attempted to fill it over a week ago! YUCK!!!

I then disconnected the filler assembly on the outside of the coach, unscrewed the clamp and pulled off the hose, and then sliced off the large section you see. I reattached it and then went back inside and did the same thing to the kinked end of the vent hose. After reattaching it, I checked to make sure there were no issues and sure enough, there weren't any! The tank filled at full blast on the water pressure and not a drop spilled, inside or out.

Just to follow up on my fresh water/city water issue I posted a few days ago. I was complaining about city water filling up my fresh water tank. As advised, I got under the rig and tried to find some sort of valve that I could "unscrew" and try to clean or replace. I didn't see anything that fit that description. I did see a red and blue line that just appeared to be cut off hoses - perhaps drains for the tanks? But no valves? Anyways, I now have my fresh water tank down to 1/3 full so at this new campground I connected to city water and so far so good with not filling up my fresh water tank! We'll see if it lasts! Hope so! Donna

What type of rig do you have? It helps everyone if you have that in your id in the left panel, so those that have similar equipment can help you better.

If you have city water filling your tank and you don't have a valve to switch between city/internal then your water pump is the check valve preventing city water from filling the tank. On many new coaches construction debris in the fresh water tank get lodged in the pump preventing the check valves from fully closing.

The solution is pretty simple: Turn off city water and run the pump for 5-10 minutes then try again. Usually that is long enough to dislodge anything in the pump and then the system will operate correctly.

In addition you may want to pop off and check your faucet aerators they probably have plastic bits in them. Also check the strainer going into the pump, you'll probably find plastic in there as well.

Yea, since we used our fresh water tank, to get rid of some of that weight for traveling, we exercised that pump a lot. Now we are connected to city water and everything seems to be working properly again! I need to remember to shut off that water pump when we finish using the tank water! Thanks for your input! D

I have had the same issue at times. If what JamieGeek suggested doesn't work; I also read on a post in this Forum that you could try shutting the water off at the spigot, then run the water pump, turn the water pump off, and then turn the water spigot back on. That has worked for me a few times (my pump strainer was clear).
