Wet Floor 2023 ACE 29G

Anyone have an issue with wet floor under dashboard on driver and passenger side of an ACE. Not sure if AC ISSUE or rain water intrusion.

On passenger side just where your feet are positioned there is a grill with foam like material that is also wet. See photo where that is located.Click image for larger version

That grill is your A/C air return and you will get water back through there into the RV floor if the condensate drain line is kinked or clogged.

On my 2016 under the hood at the passenger side just above the battery is where mine was. Thor put a very short hose on it which allowed the condensate to drain right onto the battery. I replaced it with a longer hose that goes down to the inner fender by the front tire.

The beat goes on.....Ford said AC condensate lines are fine so not their problem.

Inferred it has to do with Thor design of the cab and firewall not diverting the condensation on the outside of the coils, evaporator etc. away from the cab interior.

GENERAL RV is now calling in an expert from Ford to further examine the issue on Monday.

THIS IS WAY OVER MY PAY GRADE SO IF ANYONE HAS ANY ISSUES FOR ME TO CONSIDER WITH THOR OR GRV PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Coach is now 14 days old and time of possession is 2 days for us and 12 days for GRV.

Did you read Ace’s post #5? Just put a longer hose on it. It off the dash air not the roof air.

Ford said that is not the issue. Ford is implying
that it is condensation on the outside of the underdash equipment that is dripping in the cab. They point finger at Thor for the way they designed the cab that sits over their chassis. There was reference to the firewall design not keeping that external condensation out of the cab. I am not sure what they really mean as Ford dealer would not talk with me and not sure the General RV ADVISER really understood it either. Guess that is why they are getting a second opinion Monday as a Ford expert is going to inspect at GRV.

I tried to call Thor but they are closed now.

Also since they had it again since Tuesday my Fordpass app shows a check engine alert that Ford did not clear saying the power train control module received a barometric pressure reading outside of expected value.

Only 1250 miles on the ACE...ABOUT 90 FROM US!

It is NOT, and never was, a FORD problem. Thor installed the A/C except for the compressor and maybe the condenser in front of the radiator... The evaporator, fans and ducts are Thor's responsibility.

A Class C MH is a different animal.

The fact that the leakage is appearing on both sides indicate to me that the condensate can't get out. This is a frequent occurrence on vehicles that are infrequently user and stored outside. Unfortunately, mechanics that work mostly on newer vehicles do not see this problem often enough to know that some insect probably built a nest inside the condensate line. Depending on where the blockage is you might be able to run a wire up the hose and break up whatever is blocking the line. Or you could just replace the hose.

I just got a call from a Sales MGR at GRV trying to assure me this is a warranty issue and a Thor issue.

Again mentions something missing in the firewall but he was not sure what that was exactly but assures me service is on it....fingers crossed.

Sent email to GRV to confirm they ruled out a blocked condensation line as suggested. I assume Ford did that but not certain.

This is one of those issues that Ducksface used to get so put out at. Look, go get your motorhome, bring it home, start it up, turn the dash ac cold, open the hood and look with a flashlight to see where the water is coming from. It’ll sit on that lot till he’ll freezes over with the heads talking back and forth while you make payments.

“A Knob came off a cabinet and it’s been at the dealer for 3 months waiting for warranty repair”.

Maybe you won’t find the water intrusion. But id much rather trust myself than a bunch of jockeys at a dealer.

My position with GRV now is that since this is a brand new unit that is 2 weeks old that they need to produce a coach that is fit for its intended purpose whether it's this one or another one. I am refusing to accept re-delivery if not resolved as you can't drive a motorhome that urinates on your feet so to speak each time you drive. In Florida we need AC almost all year around.

OK folks here is the issue it is the condensation, but what is happing that when in transit the condensation is being blow make to the fire wall and is getting in. I took Flex Seal and sprayed the area where i thought the intrusion might be. It took two stabs at it, but problem solved.
Forget anyone helping you. You have to help yourself.

Yes indeed. That s a great catch. Great fix. You’re on the road to being a true Thor owner. All kidding aside, I’m glad it’s fixed.

Where did you spray the flex seal on your Vegas?

Could you post a photo?

I basically sprayed in the area where it appeared that was entry and showing the wetness on the inside. I sprayed up and down that area. I believe the condensation was coming just above the engine, that was my last shot and it stopped at that point. I will attempt to get you a picture.
