Hurricane Tire Replacement
I have one tire with a slit on the side of one my rear, outside dually tires. Is a motorhome like a car where you replace a minimum of 2 tires? If so, do you replace the two outside tires (one on each side), or the 2 duallies on the same side? Or do I have to choke-down 4 new rear tires?
Thanks everyone for your help.

Had side wall damage on one tire, replaced all 4. (Was close to replacement of all 4)
Depends on u , age of tires, etc
Why I use discount tires now and pay insurance for exact issue

It's questionable whether you should replace two even in a car. Depends on wear. RV tires rarely have much wear on them. So there is going to be very little difference in tire circumference/ wear pattern with a new one. For my money, if the tires are less than 5 years old, I'm just replacing the bad one and never looking back. If its five years, then maybe I'd buy two and put them on the front. Get the other four next year.

Take one of the front and replace the bad one. Buy a new (or two) front tires.

Sage advice! The fronts should the the two newest on the coach (assuming all tires are the same size).

Another vote for new steers and using one to replace the damaged rear.

Put two new tires in the front, then get the current front tires and put in the inside of the duallies (w/o changing their rotation direction) and put the ones that are currently inside outside (w/o changing rotation direction).

Direction won’t matter, Radial tire construction doesn’t care what way it’s turning, crossing fronts side to side helps with cupping or uneven wear.
Go off tread depth, try not to mix tires with different tread depths on the rear. A 12/32nd tread on the rear with a tire that has 6 or 7/32nds tread depth will cause the tire with more tread to in essence support more load as it is taller. Try to keep duals together. Replace right side rear tires and move them to the front and take the fronts and put them on the right side, keeping them together. Fronts wear differently compared to the right side or the left side. You will find most RV’s or dual wheel set ups wear a little quicker on the right side as that is the drive side.

Yep, as stated, I would go with two new steers and move one of the steers to the dually.

They used to when they first came out. Once mounted and run in a certain direction you could not rotate them so they spun the opposite direction without the very real possibility they would slip a belt.
Modern radial tires no longer have tha issue, so just like the old bias ply or nylon tires, they can spin both ways over their lifetime.

That was when engineering was in charge of the recommendations, but then came the marketing folks so now rotation is "recommended"
