why can't I find anything on Thor Quantum pd31?

Is the Quantum another name for the same Thor product? Four winds seems similar but not exactly by the pictures. No search here or on google really shows reviews like other rv's. Would appreciate any guidance.

Just saw your post from 2016 - we're new PD31 owners. And I also wonder why there is not more commentary about this particular unit. Happy to share our experiences along the way

The Quantum, Chateau, Four Winds, and Freedom Elite all have common layouts. Some of the basic differences are the Quantum offers upscale gloss cabinetry and some full paint vs decal options. The Chateau and Four Winds are almost identical except for fabric and flooring differences. The Freedom Elite is made specifically for sale by Camping World.

Thumbs up Quantum is a new model line

We were told when we were looking that the Quantum was a higher line than Four Winds and Chateau and that it was a new model line. Consequently we couldn't find much information about it due to it being new still. We've had our PD31 since last Nov and love it. Happy to answer any questions you or others may have.

Hi not sure if you are still on this site but thought I would ask you a question or two. We are picking up our 2017 pd31 next week. Do you have any advice on things we should look at closely during inspection or maintenance tips on the unit? Also, we are upgrading from another unit and noticed outside storage is quite limited on the pd31. What have you done to alleviate that or is it not a problem for you. Thanks for your help

We wanted the cab-over design largely for the storage - we have no intention of sleeping anyone up there. Great for larger items. We also like the rear storage unit on the passenger side - we store our 12-1/2-foot kayak in there, for example. We purchased locking-top bins that fit perfectly in the outside storage areas to keep things organized and from sliding around. We use our PD31 just for the two of us, plus our dog. We have found the storage more than adequate.

As for final walk-through, ours was more of an orientation. We assumed the dealer prep fee we paid up front meant the dealer tested everything to make sure it was working. Wrong. I suggest making them do everything from starting up the stove and oven to testing the shower drain (ours had a blockage and did not work on our first trip. Obviously no one had tested it). I also used my phone video to record our orientation in segments - separate clips on each different system. Great tool for refreshing your memory on some of the details. Make certain they have cleaned out the air ducts - ours were loaded with foam shavings. Other defects were detected during shakedown cruises - I recommend one or two short trips to put everything through the paces. Don't get a wrong impression - we love our unit. But as with all new units, there were mfg issues that had to be corrected. Patience is a virtue. If you have more specific questions, would be happy to respond.
