Hard Wire or replace
I'm trying to figure the best route to take with my 2019 Outlaw. Running three A/Cs burned/melted my 50 amp power cord to the plug (note the pics). My question is would it be ok to hard wire the connection (power cord wiring to coach wiring) vs how it currently was (plugged in). I'm currently at a 50 amp spot at a KOA, running on solar, saving KOA a ton of electricity. Additionally, there is a Home Depot not to far for 50 amp crimps, but no RV repair near. Thanks for any ideas.

I would ask a local electrician to help and can fix the coach plug

If the cable took enough heat to melt the plug: is it still okay tp use?
I'd consider the plug-in cable as a "Shear pin". It'll take any abuse, before it gets out of hand, and starts wrecking uour inside electricals...

also use a surge protector so other things are ok

Oh my... burning off the neutral pin is not good. That means there is other problems. The two 120VAC hot pins are looking good, however all the current is going back through the neutral overloading the pin connector. Not a balanced 120VAC/240VAC from the pedestal.
Only the two hots are amperage circuit protected, if the pedestal is wired correctly. Do you have a surge protector with indicator lights? Or measure at the pedestal with a volt meter, if you have zero volts between the two hot pins then the pedestal is wired wrong.
Burned off like that you have to replace both the end on the cord and the inlet in the RV. Not enough plastic left to support when the pin is pulled out like that.

I would suggest you get an electrician to look over your coach. Something is not right in your current setup.

Except he didn't burn off the neutral pin; that is a hot pin that overheated:
G = Ground
W = Neutral
X, Y = Hot Leads

I volt for a loose connection on the coach's male plug; not the shoreline recepticle. They make arc fault combination circuit breakers to guard against this sort of electrical fault.

This is the reason I wired a permanent volt,amp meter in my rig.
If the voltage drops when a heavy load comes on I will keep checking the plugs for warmth.
Cleaning the plug with a scuff pad has corrected numerous times.
Also because I am only 30 amps, I can move to the 50 with an adapter. Many 30 amp recepticals are just worn out

A good EMS will display the amps on each leg. I’d want one anyway but that’s another good reason.

So I ended up hard wiring the cut off end of the power cord to the electrical panel (breaker box) in the rig. Looks like the only purpose for the 50 amp plug is to replace one length of power cord for another. I'm fine with the length of power cord I currently have. All is well with zero costs.

I would check the panel to see if all three ACs are on the same phase. That would cause a big load on that one leg. However it could be caused by a loose connection.

both a/c units are on separate legs, which is why it's much easier to wire two air conditioners within a 50amp 240v breaker panel, like most do. The only addition is the 'extra' window 120v air conditioner in the garage - which some will simply run an extension cord separately to the power Pedestal's 20amp outlet for that, to keep it off the RV's own panel.
looks like you have a loose neutral... it's happened to me before, and I did the same - hardwired the 50amp 'female' end directly into the ATS(auto transfer switch) ... no problems since. (our 2014 Thor Palazzo diesel pusher 50amp 240v coach with 110,000 miles since new)

Not a "surge protector." Get an EMS. A surge protector will protect you from one thing...electrical surges from the supply. Surges are rare. EMS protects from a number of issues. And if you are calling an EMS a surge protector, stop.
