Admins: Delete Message Option Missing?

What happened to the delete option in the edit option of a post you wrote?

I think they felt that the option to delete posts could disrupt a thread's continuity...

It's there.
I just posted in this thread and then deleted the post as a test. The post deleted just fine.

You only have about two hours to delete or edit before the option disappears.
The time constraint makes it impossible to update links or pictures.
I don't know why there would be a time constraint.

I know there's a 2 hour limit for editing posts...
That one has me baffled.

Continuity?
We can't get half of the question askers to formulate a comprehendable sentence.
We can't get posters to erase wrong things like
Pex is 3/8th's
And they can't edit it out.
So...
The people who read a thread title and then blurt nonrelevant crap because they didn't bother with context, surely read a thread the same way...and now they're out looking for the wrong size pex or worried about the chf on their E450...because the wrong sayer can't edit it out.

I tried to delete it in a 2min window. I just went back and there it was.

Ya know, sometimes you just need to look at the freakin' screen! My bad. And thanks.

If someone quotes a post, regardless of whether it was a minute or 15 minutes later, the option to edit or delete the quoted post goes away for the original poster. In that case a site team member will have to delete the post if requested with reason.

I guess I just don't consider it to be an issue.
None of us are perfect; so why expect it in our posts?
