Forum keeps timing me out...

Several times now I've been keying in a longer message after having logged in, only to find that when I finish that I've been "timed out." Perhaps this is happening only to me. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Happens to me all the time. I suspect it's a browser compatibility issue. You may want to check with tech support. I'm not really concerned about it-I can live with it.

I noted the time on your post happens to coincide with the time we do daily server maintenance and so for about 15 minutes early in the morning the site loads slowly or not at all. If it's happening all the time we need to explore other causes.

I thought that the problem was fixed, but recently got timed out when writing a multi paragraph response to what we liked about our Thor Four Winds. The thing is, of course, that you hope to share your thoughts only to learn that you are no longer logged in (and have lost what you wrote....).

I know it's not really a solution, but after composing your post, and before actually posting - highlight it, then copy it to your clipboard (use CTRL-C or your other favorite method to do so).

Then if you get timed out, all you have to do is to paste the text back and post it.

It's an interim solution at best.

Or write your response in a text editor "off line" so to speak then pasted it in.

Thanks for suggesting this. I used this approach many years ago when we were forced to write lengthy evaluations of projects and personnel using an "innovative" on-line real time piece of software that kept timing out people or otherwise losing their input. I'd just write everything in MSWord and then copy and past it in.
FWIW I thought we had overcome this limitation and know that there are some forums that don't time out people. It's probably just a software/code problem.
