AC Question

We recently drove the RV from FL to KY in relatively cold weather. The cabin heat was turned on for most of the trip. Yet whenever I stopped, I saw condensation on the ground that had dripped out of the AC system. Is the AC compressor activated all of the time? (2015 Windstream K-27) If so, why?

No supposed to be unless you turn it on.

Did you haver the dash controls set to defrost? If so I believe the AC compressor runs to clear the windshield. Mine does and I have a condensor puddle on the ground.

No the dash control was set to heat and the fan was running.

A/C compressors, by default, run off and on during the winter to keep things lubricated...especially if you use the defrost mode. The compressor generated drier air and evaporates the moisture quicker.
