Login timeouts

I'm experiencing login timeouts when I try to compose a thoughtful post - response or otherwise.

I don't know your front end system but if it's IIS, can you extend the timeout? Apache/Tomcat should be able to do that too. If I don't do a CTRL+C on my post before I try to Save it, I lose all my data.

I notice this site is not https and probably should be. That vulnerability can be exploited to the Nth degree, stealing data and loading the message boards with spam/junk/or worse.

make sure you tick the 'remember me" button on the login screen - it may help.

Thanks. I'll try but don't use that option on any other site and don't timeout. I wipe my browsing tracks every time I shutdown. It's scripted as part of my shutdown process. If it works, I'll just check when I login to this site.

What about HTTPS?

HTTPS is only required on the login page to process your credentials. Not used or required on any other page.

You are correct. I started an edit, left it for about 30m, finished my thoughts and saved it. Worked like a charm.

Thanks

Thanks for your feedback. Honestly.

HTTPS should cover the entire site. Once at the root site, HTTPS should be employed throughout. I run MS Edge in private mode so only some cookies are stored for the current session (not all - e.g. 3rd party is rejected). Janet's check box ensures the cookie remains persistent. See response to Janet H.
