Acronym list

Like just about all things these days people use acronyms to replace words or sentences. When I first joined this forum it took a while for me to figure a lot of them out and I’m still not sure I have a good handle on all of them. In the interest of helping newbies and others, I would like to suggest we put a list together as part of this thread. Feel free to add your list but please keep it related to motor homes, manufacturers, camping, travel, etc. Thanks for taking time to compile this information.

How many people do you think will refer to this thread when it drops into the abyss?

I try to use the full name the first time in a post in a thread and put the acronym behind it in parentheses.

Example:

You may want to check the wire nuts at the Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS). They are not always installed well and this is a common ATS power problem.

That way when the acronym is used farther down in the post/thread it should be obvious what it means.

I don't always remember to do this, but I try.

RTM and PICNIC

I like

RTM (Read The Manual )

and

PICNIC (Problem in Chair Not In Coach )

The explanation and solution to many problems can be found in these two wise word.

I borrowed this last one from computer helpdesks (replace Coach for Computer and it works just as well )
