What if you piced a Screen Name something like "FatOldStoopidGuy"; or something else that was equally complimentary?

THe more I look at the stickers with numbers in the middle the less I like them. They look like rental rvs and the numbers are their stock number
THink we should highlight Thor Forums and use name or number on the top line

I was looking at that color because I thought it might match my rig the best...
But it is pretty neutral, and would work with a lot of color schemes.
Kudos to Ted!

Glitz,
You have been pretty quite after starting this thread. Hope you didnt get offended that a couple of us, especially me, have posts ideas for the stickers by the company Janet suggested. If so I apologize.
Have you spoken to your sign guy any further or showed him any designs??
What are your opinions, like dislikes of the current looks

Thanks guys. I picked those colors to kinda go with my rig plus they're the colors of this forum in my Chrome Clone browser.
I think we're quickly getting to the point of beating this horse to death: too many variations are possible to make the sticker and too many variations in taste from forum users.
I agree with Jerry that a big number makes it look like a rental sticker, that's why I included both the Username and Number in the center (with a "No. instead of #). Problem with that is some users like me and Bob have their last names in their Username and there are some Usernames that are going to be too long.
Maybe we can have a mass Username change for those that would like to do that and add a label (calling Janet) below the Username such as "UFKA Tfryman" (User Formally Known As) to make it less confusing on the forum?
Or have I added another variable to the "too many variables" already?

IMHO I think we should have three or four creative minds settle on two or three designs and have a week long vote. one post per member for one week. Winner rules. I see about ten very good examples.

I think this is a great idea and a very popular post today...we are all in on this when everyone decides which uniform sticker to use and best place to attach to the MH.

What a great idea, kicked off by Gritz and advanced by Janet H. Having a standard design is great, but my inner nonconformist and my design and color sensitive partner conspired to proceed with my sticker order.
I ordered the design I showed back in post #42, and a second rectangular one to go over an old license plate for the front. (In Florida we there is no plate required and any are allowed.) Cost for 2 ovals and 2 license plate sized stickers was $28.33. The second one of each was much cheaper.
Here's what I ordered for the front:

I like the front plate idea. Indiana also has no front plate.
Your design looks Great!
I also ordered mine.

The front one will mostly be seen by someone walking by at a campground. My current front plate came from Hatteras Island, and says in big letters, "HI". Most folks probably assume I'm just being friendly.
I agree with the earlier comment about keeping the text to a minimum and the font to the maximum. Always bugs me when I get a business card that requires a magnifying glass to read!

There have been a lot of good ideas and much over thinking going on.
--use number or screen names, your choice--that way for those who use their real names (in whole or in part) as their screen names they don't have to paste their names on their RV. You can look up all posts by screen name, and now number too. Just remember that most folks more easily remember "Old Stupid Sunofagun" than "No.1287" on a drive or walk by.
--as I said before, size matters. The eye will look for a focus point and the largest print is it. So match the print to the goal: identification of screen name or number first (hey, that's the guy who had the answer for my problem); or free ad space for Thor
--again, size matters, as in what size decal are we designing. Depending on placement on your RV and how far avay you want to actually be able to read them you will likely need large (9X6) ovals.
--no matter what you do you won't please everyone, and some folks will want to create their own design/color scheme because they can. So 2-3 choices for folks is fine by me--I just want to see us move forward quickly.

Actually very excited about the interest in this project. I was out of town this weekend in Michigan and just got back last night. Trying to catch up on the chatting. Went from one page to six and postings are faster than I can "read -up" on them. My suggestion, based on postings, is to come up with a simple, readable sticker at highway speeds...something you can read in a second or two. Also, placement should be somewhere over the driver window, area and a second over the tag or centered across the back of the coach. A third suggestion would be go with high quality, UV resistant commercial vinyl...any color you choose. I've bought tons of graphics over the years in my commercial truck sales as well as for my own vehicles, signs, etc. I've always used one guy and never had any fading, peeling or cracking. Most online "sticker companies" are so interesting in the cheapest price, you will get crappy, thin stickers that will not hold up in the sun. I spoke with my supplier and he is working on a couple designs and pricing for a pack of three stickers (three locations or have a spare). You can email him with your order, pay online and he will ship them. Any other ideas are fine with me as well. I'm not trying to control this program...just be in it. My thoughts was just a simple, one-line number without a lot of tacky graphics....something classy but recognizable quickly.

My screen name, "The Gritz Carlton", is also the name of the coach...meaning Five Star Accommodations from the "Grit Eating South". Everyone has a local sign shop around the corner. I think each member can have whatever made they wish that makes them feel warm and fuzzy...just make sure it's big enough to be seen. If we all wish the same sign company the time lag will be longer but the system will be uniform and quickly recognized as we travel. The main point is so we can recognize each other as we travel. I also ordered 150 of these flashlights with our info etched on the side:
"The Gritz Carlton"
our named and phone number
TheGritzCarlton@gmail.com
As we meet people we wish to stay in touch with, they will leave with one of these very useful gadgets in their coach. It isn't where you are going...it's how you get there that matters!

Gritz,
Any idea how long it will take your guy to come up with a design and price of the stickers??
