GMail works everywhere, including my 2 paypal accounts.
Gmail has excellent security features also.

If you are concerned about email as ID, open a new email address, I use Gmail. and I have multiple Gmail addresses.
The email that you use to login have forwarded to your main account. Then You will receive any Emails sent to the such Email Account.

I also have Yahoo email addresses, all my email addresses are forwarded to my Main Email Account.

It takes a little extra to set up but works smoothly.
I like to use a separate Email account for Financial accounts. They all are forwarded to my main account.

1st I have no problem with this simple request. Make sense to me and glad to see the site move forward; although I am fairly new.

With that said, seems like you would already know which email addresses are valid? Why not reach out to the folks that have bouncing emails, or have not responded to anything you have sent to their email address in the last 6 months or so?

Can't see a need to update our email addresses unless it is a benefit to someone somewhere. I'm willing to bet our info is used to sell ad space here in this blog. More members equates to more ad revenue just like more TV viewers equals higher advertising commercial rates for the networks. I could care less but if I start getting mysterious junk emails I will know where they came from.

Is there going to be a "remember me" check box?, like other sites have? Your statement that the email is not visible may not protect against hackers because it is stored somewhere. IMHO, it doesn't matter whether you use a UN or Email.

I am at a loss to find the forum Privacy statement. If there is one there should be a statement regarding the sale, distribution and otherwise release of members' email address. If there is no statement, then, the site owners/administrators are possibly in a legal situation that should be resolved. IMHO.
There may be a lawyer on this site that has more information regarding the legalities of these types of sites and there responsibilities to its members.

I hope that the site admins could point us to the location and statements regarding this topic.

AH HA! I thank you for pointing us to the small print at the bottom of the page. I am not a lawyer but it seems that you can release my email to "third parties" without permission. Is that correct?

what proof do you have that they are not??? rv owners are higher income group, our contact info would be valuable

A email address is not making it simple

I believe they already have your email address. They are just giving you a chance to state that it has not changed or give you the option to update it. As when they switch over you will not be locked out and have to create a new account.

Let's not forget folks. This site exists to make MONEY. We use it to communicate ideas, help, ask questions about RVing. However, this site is corporate owned and sells ad space as a revenue stream for the company. That's fine because most of us already know that. What is happening here is the same thing as purging the voting rolls of dead or no longer resident registrations. After all, they do want an active target consumer so by all means UPDATE THOSE EMAILS. You don't want to miss out on all the wonderful RV dealer drivel that helps separate you from your sanity.
