15 amp SP & surge protection?

Question we have a 30 amp surge protector.
If we hookup to someone's home that only has 15 amp outside plug do I need a surge protector before reaching MH. I used to only use the 15 amp to 30 amp converter attached to an extension cord at home and my home circuit would trip if any issues. Not sure if same visiting a friend ?

Your 30 amp surge protection works on a 15 amp circuit, both are 120 VAC.
