2007 Dutchman rear lights conversion to LED

Hello all, I have an older RV 12v 307 bulbs for the rear lights and was hoping someone has modified their rear lights for better visibility/lumens with the brighter LEDs. Recent trip to the maintenance shop, my taxi/wife could barely see the rear lights. I don't drive a lot at night and wasn't to worried after all these years. Its time to fix the problem. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings and Welcome

I'm not familiar with and can't find any info on "12v 307 bulbs" which is rule #1 when swapping to led, you have to KNOW the # on the bulb

I've swapped a few 1156/7 incandescent for LED and have always been happy with the results

Have you researched changing the whole thing, might be cheaper and will look better

Here are a couple from etrailer.com

Let us know how your DIY is going.

Unhappy DIY Bulb type 3157 brake/turn Incandescent to LED

Excuse the delay I was called away by higher authority, yes the wife. I stand corrected the bulb is a 12 V 3157 for the brake/turn signals.

When you replaced the 1157 with an LED any problems with the turn signal timing?

I was hoping someone found a direct replacement type LED that matched the old electrical specs for the 12 v blinkers, etc. I can do the electrical work but prefer not to mess with a new mod for blinker relays and wiring to match the new electrical resistances/impedance of a LED bulb. Last time I researched the mod that is all that seemed available.

I have changed a bunch of them years past before everything started coming out with LED's

Just watch and read comments and reviews and find the lumens you need. Most older vehicles have a plug in type timer/switch so it is an easy swap

Don't remember having to change many relays, usually just the bulb

Since the lamp pulls less current it might result in a change in the timing

Changed out all 4 tail lights on the Landmark to LED and that didn'f affect the F550 turn signals

LED can cause "hyperflashing" in cars, motorhomes etc. but shouldn't be a problem in your 5th wheel

3157 LED might be hard to find. However Amazon has plenty here's a link.

These look good, Auxito has a good reputation.
